2 Gen. John Abizaid, former CENTCOM commander. General Omar Bradly These are all names with Arabic roots... do you suppose they are Islamic terrorists? Barack, is a Semitic word meaning "to bless" as a verb or "blessing" as a noun. In its Hebrew form, barak, it is found all through the Bible. It first occurs in Genesis 1:22: "And God blessed (ḇāre&# 7733;ə ) them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth." 14 presidents have had Semitic names. The name Barak, translated means blessed or to kneel. Hussein, Barak's grandfathers name means handsome and is a very common name. As far as being dangerous, I would worry more about his ancestors on his maternal side that share roots with Dick Cheney. Barak Obama had a Kenyan father, that he met once. He was raised by his grandparents in Kansas. His grandfather served with Patton. If this man was white there would be none of this stupidity. palin's husband was a long standing member of the successionist movement in Alaska. That is about as anti-american as you can get. But the fringers love them some moose turd pie so he gets to float on that. The double standards of the evangelical movement is astounding! Though I vehemently disagree with Obama and his policies, his name is a non issue - the man didn't name himself. Would it make people feel better if his name was Ken Jones? However, I do think that his name will have a negative effect on a very small portion of today's society.

Do you think that palin's appealing to the ignorance of this segment of her base, and then saying ' "I have nothing to lose." is anything for your party to be proud of? All you have to do is peruse through these posts to see the passion that these wack jobs possess. This is a result of the Rove machinem and their manipulation of the fundamentalist base. And it reeks of backwooods 1930's. It speaks poorly to your cause. |

1 actually he isn't even registered to vote. ;) |

Not quite sure what I said that started the "yeah, buts" with you. In fact, my post didn't even require a response. It was pretty straightforward. All I meant to say was that there will be some people (not me) who will not vote for him because of his name. Just like there will be those that will or will not vote for him because he's black. Just a statement, that's all. |

Jir,
Calm the hell down a bit. Sounds like you could use a hug. "The Supreme Court overruled the RNC in Ohio." And this surprises you? Now we have thousands upon thousands (I've heard up to 200k) of fraudulant votes that are already in the system by absentee. Dems want the big White House any way they can get it. God bless, America? No no no no - God damn, America. Before you fire back the the Republicans are the ones doing that. http://www.nypost.com/seven/10102008/news/pol... |

I don't care what color the man is. It's ignorant to even put that in to play. We need leadership and somebody who can build bridges not burn them down. Not voting for a person because of race is so 1960's. Grow up. |

1 I think "change" was only implying that's what the demoncrats are promoting....you know, registering (if need be illegally) a lot of black voters just to get Osama elected. |
