Who is Ray Davis that is the coach of IL Jr. High Soccer? Anyone know about him...other than his lack of social skills? I heard he manages 5 plants? Must be house-plants...

We just played them. He thinks he is the greatest thing to happen to soccer. I heard he hand picked his team and left the other IL team with what he didn't want. Wouldn't it be great if they got beat by the players he didn't want?

Bellefontaine did the same thing, it's called try outs. Instead of the other kids not getting to play, they formed a second team. How many Bellefontaine kids tried out and did not make the team.He is a very fair coach and does alot for the kids.

How you win shows part of your character. How you loose shows all of it.

I am sure you must mean lose, not loose, as they are 2 totally different things. BTW, you can also show your character- or lack of when you win, or lose. O have seen both demonstrations.

Ray's a good man and coach. He does let the competition get to him a little but other than that a good human being and a good leader for the kids. We have had our differences over the years and did not see eye to eye on stratagies, but he's Ok in my book.

Ray Davis is a damn good man. I have known him since elementary school days.

Almost anyone can pick at coaches and say they don't like this or that, but I can guarantee you that Ray is giving his all and trying to help his team be as successful as possible.

I give Ray credit for taking time out of his life to coach young athletes. Most people would rather complain than pickm up the whistle themselves.

The county junior high soccer tournament play continued Thursday night with the two Indian Lake teams facing off for the first time this season.

LCS Elite led at halftime 2-0, with Michael Beale scoring twice off of assists from Carlie Losh and Connor Davis. In the second half, LCS widened the gap with Beale scoring his third goal, while Davis scored twice, Ryan Dunn, Brittany Bryant, and Triston Teets all scoring once for the 8-0 win.

Beale and Zach Sparks added assists. Abby Watson and Teets recorded the shutout as keepers.

Defensively, Tyler Rode led the team with many stops, along with Lindsey Chismar, Emily Teague, Dustin Roby, Zoe Smalley, and Brianna Bryant. Offensively, Matt Obenour, Elijah Knief, Mitch Schwieterman, Emily Sroufe, Andrew Crockett and Zach Allison all had outstanding games.

LCS remains unbeatened at 11-0, taking on West Liberty 2 Saturday at Southview Park at 3:00 p.m.

Indian Lake middle schooler, Davis, selected for international team.

The US Youth Soccer Association announced this week in the Soccer Ohio magazine the Regional Pool Team members for the 2010-2011 Olympic Development Program (ODP) for all age groups.

Representing the Boy's team for Region II (14 states) are five boys from Ohio, one of which is from Logan County. Connor Davis, a seventh grader at Indian Lake Middle School, was selected to represent Region II's team that will be traveling Internationally next Spring to compete against some of the top teams in Europe, as well as other US Regional teams.

Connor was named captain of his Ohio team that competed at the Regional camp, held in July in Overland Park, Kansas, where 432 boys from 14 states were trying out individually for the Regional Pool team.

He is the son of Ray & Kim Davis of Lewistown.

He lives like less than a mile from me. Ray a great guy.
He was "forced out" of his job at Canal Wincester (over by Columbus) they made parts for Honda. When they did they were in Violation of the EPA. He had warned the company to clean up these violations. The board refused to clean up these issues. since he's the CEO he would have done time for EPA violations. He decided to resign.

A good man doesn't accuse someone of stealing from the soccer treasury without proof or tell others a person was fired from a vounteer coaching position. All is well until you don't follow what he wants. If he was all about the kids he would not have a team of 20 kids (only 11 play at a time) leaving 13 - 15 (many had never played before) for the other team. In my mind he is a loser, no matter how many games he wins or fields he builds.

Also I don't think there were any tryouts. Anyone with a real concern for kids would have formed a second team. Bellefontaine has other teams within Bellefontaine. WL, Ben Logan have more than one team for the ones that don't make the select team.
