Actually, I read the petition, and none of it seems out of place. She's been a housewife for 25 years, she's right to ask for alimony, and since the kid isn't 18, she should ask for child support.

Equitable distribution. Gotta love it. Hopefully they can work out a settlement, and that it doesn't get nasty.

They've been through tough times, it's sad when marriages break due to the stress of life.

I agree. She did take care of the family all those years and I hope they can work things out in a peaceful manner that is agreeable to everyone. I know he is probably hurt and shocked and no one really knows the stress she has been under. We can't judge sitting on the outside looking in.

People are often very ignorant and think that managing a home and caring for children is an easy job that deserves no pay. People are often wrong. I agree with you completely.

Why don't you tell that to all the women that work a full time job and have children? House wife, what a joke.
For the record I DO work full time and have children, but I can also see the value in a stay-at-home wife/mother, and I know that I personally could never do it and keep my sanity. Have you tried being a stay-at-home dad? I think you'd be singing a different tune if you did.

Why don't we call it what it really is "legalized prostitution". I don't think being a house wife involves much work. I guess watching those soap operas can be chore though.
I would never have anything to do with any woman unless she is working and contributing to family. It is amazing how a woman can work and keep the house up isn't it? So much for the house wife argument.
Hey dufus, it's called maid service. They go to work, so they can pay for having it cleaned, especially if the hubby and kids don't pitch in. I dare you, double dog dare you to be a true homemaker for just one week. Hah......wimp. You sure got's some residual anger there dude.
