Wal-Mart robbed in Pinellas Park

Pinellas Park Police are looking for two men who robbed a Super Wal-Mart Thursday morning. Full Story

This ongoing crime wave has continued seemingly unabated though ever more dollars in security, law enforcemtnt and incarceration have been expended. For me, the simple economics and personal safety issues of the War on Drugs passed my trip point this year. The War is lost! Anyone who was at the Pinellas Park Walmart should perhaps drop an extra dollar in the plate this weekend and say a prayer of thanks. I am not a drug user, never have been, but it is time that some manner of legalization be considered. Look only to the past two weeks at the home invasion shooting death in a Winter Haven gated community, then the Tyrone Mall car-jackings. Who are these people? Where did they come from? What do they want from life? What makes them run about the streets like a group of pillaging brigands? For the sake of a responsible, safe and secure community, it is better were these people sitting stoned playing video games in a beach front condo than plying the steets to pursue their life-styles.

I'm still trying to figure out how you turned a story about armed robbery into a reason to legalize drugs.

Seems weird that you quoted the "clueless" as part of your response to Baliz when nowhere in Baliz's response does the word appear.

/What makes you think that if they were "sitting stoned ... in a beach front condo" that they would not be out "plying the streets to pursue their life-styles"? Beach front condos cost money to occupy, either renting or owning. And money is either gotten by earning it with hard work, or by dishonest means. The robbers obviously lack the character traits of a hard working man, so they would still choose a life of robbery. But when drugs are involved, restraint is removed. If stoned on drugs, they would be much more likely to pull the trigger. Hopefully, they will be caught and stopped before they get another chance to hurt someone.

A relative of mine works at this store, and was up front this morning when the incident took place. She and all the other front-end overnight people have been complaining to management for months because there is NO loss prevention and only RARELY a security person present at this time of the morning. The thieves know this and they have been ripping off the store regularly. Eventually someone is going to be killed and Wal-Mart will be facing a huge lawsuit because they refused to take adequate precautions to protect their employees and customers.

You make it sound like its wal-marts fault for these senseless idiots going in taking things, they could of targeted anywhere, cause thats what these kind of inadeqate, pond life criminals do, they have no thought for anyone only themselves.

Glad no one was injured and hopefully they will be caught, so they cant put honest hard working people through this kind of ordeal again.
