Not only is it atrocious how women and children
(as well as others) have been victimized by people in authoritative positions, what is even worse is that you were the one made to be embarassed. I think it goes without saying that we ALL learn what we have lived. The world has really changed over the years, and that doesn't mean that these things don't still go on, but the recourse for such actions has. For one, the media eats this stuff up these days, we didn't have that then, and there certainly wasn't a cell phone in every pocket. Not every parent wanted to "create a fuss", or maybe "embarass the family"

Years ago if someone harmed someones child the threat of the Dad may have been enough to stop it. Atrocities were handled privately, and the OFFENDER was avoided by others that may have gotten "wind" of the incident. Today things are just different, not telling of an incident allows for someone else to be victimized, it puts the monkey on someone elses back. Someone has to step up tp the plate and swing. Does it ALWAYS WORK, NO. But someone at somepoint has to be the bigger person in HOPES OF creating CHANGE!

Even in these times I know children who were raised thinking their "grandparents, "aunt", etc. were their parents due to FAMILY taking care of their own business huh??

But it is agreed that tolerance for domestic abuse and child abuse is close to ZERO now!! But I believe so many victims hold back for fear of thinking their family either won't believe them OR BE HURT. Sad...

Possible solutions, long & short term:
1. You ATTEND the PUBLIC TOWN HALL meetings and voice concerns to council members
2. Draft a Petition
3. Contact the County Prosecutors Office.
4. VOTE
1.It's kind of hard to go o town hall meetings, when they aren't held in unincorporated towns.
2. I don't think common people can easily draft a formal petition, or afford the attorney's fee t have one made up.
3. The Prosecutors know many policemen on the social level.
4. I hadn't heard about recent elections for the state police.
NOW WHAT?
They do what they want, atleast here on Cabin Creek. I was personally pulled over by the KCS 5 times since I began writing and editing for this site without being given so much as a warning.
I don't know why I am being targeted! And there is nothing you can do when you can't even prove you are being harrassed.

Town Hall Meetings does not refer to the actual "Town Hall" as a noun. It is more like a VERB "a Town hall meeting" I don't care where. During the revolution they met on Creek banks.....
2. Vote: Lawmakers are "a bit compelled" to listen to their constituents. I guess if you are already "defeated" you don't "believe" in the electoral process.
3. Most Prosecutor's know Policeman. They also know the good ones from the bad. They see their work on a regular basis. Policeman have a tendancy to be "human". They eat, shop, consume products and become ill just like the rest of us. I think YOU give them wayyyy to much power.
Pulled over 5 times, and not offered ANY indication as to why? Probable Cause can be anything from a reported crime/vehicle matching description, Defective Equipment (unrepaired or replaced.) Unlicensed equipment and or operator....I don't know your situation, absolutely not. But PLEASE don't accept it and accept Defeat. There are REASONS for many things that MOST people are not AWARE of.

So, who was this cop? The story that is connected to this is gone. What was his name?

I was reading about the disappearance of Melanie Methany. I was looking for info about her on Topix. That is how I stumbled onto this article. I am somewhat intuitive, and I had picked up the name Jeremy. Is this person named Jeremy? Would he have known Melanie?

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Aquarius

Diplomacy is your middle name today, so make the most of it while it lasts. It will be just what you need if you've been waiting for the right time to raise a tricky topic with you-know-who, and it will also come in handy if you're caught up in a potentially sensitive conversation with someone and you want to extricate yourself as smoothly as possible.
