NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Taylor Swift made history at the CMA Awards, becoming the youngest person to win entertainer of the year and the first solo female to win it in a decade.

I don't listen to country music but I am happy for her. She's achieved a lot and she's still a teenager.

She's so sweet AND talented. At least she writes and co-writes a lot of her songs. That's more than can be said of most country "artists". She just seems to have so much fun and she's genuine. I don't like country music because most of it is over-produced, but I like Taylor and Miranda Lambert. Congrats, girl!

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news this morning. Every time Taylor Swift comes on the radio, I either turn to another station or stay there to chuckle at her laughable lyrics and weak voice. But this is too much. Entertainer of the Year? Did you see her on SNL? Worst host in a long time? Have you seen her stupid videos (okay, all I've seen are clips, but they're terrible)? She's attained everything she ever wanted, so maybe she can go quietly. And maybe the CMA can stop letting 12-year-old girls vote! Kanye showed up one awards show too late.

I am a 34 year old mother who loves Taylor Swift. Her songs are so age-appropriate for her and take me back to when I was her age. She sings about good, clean life experiences and I think it is GREAT that there are so many young girls looking up to her instead of those singing about trash! I say, Congrats, Taylor! Keep doing what you are doing because obviously MANY love you!!!

I have no problem with young girls listening to her. They'll grow out of it. But I do have a problem with her winning awards she isn't talented enough to win and taking those awards when so many others should have it...like any of the four singers who didn't win EOY last night.

I don't think GOD wants to have anything to do with anything you're saying, so I would just leave Him out of it. You're doing a good job of showing us who's behind your ranting and it sure isn't GOD. Have a blessed day!

Lookatyou, I don't agree with anything "Raymond Jones" said in his post, but he has the right to say it and he has every right to invoke God into it as the next person.

Jessie, I don't know if you're in the music biz or not. I'm not, but I feel for people who are and who have talent but who can't break in because someone with so little talent as Taylor Swift is taking all the space. It's not jealousy. I'm not in the business. It's just hating to see politics win over talent...and if anyone doesn't think that's the case, that politics were behind the Taylor Swift win, then they don't understand why she won.

Good for her. To all the fools in the above posts, with the exception of posts #13 and #15, are you a little jealous? She deserved to win EoTY. Try turning to a station where she is not given air time. She has crossed multiple music platforms, that appeal to many different people. You can't argue that fact. But, I do agree that her singing voice leaves alot to be desired.

I turn her off everytime she comes on. Or I stay there and listen to the funny lyrics. She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts, which is a song about a girl trying to take a boy away from another girl, something I find appalling. I'm not jealous, I promise you, I just don't like her and I'm sad when the real winner should have been one of the other four much-more talented and real entertainers.
