Do they mean to say that even with all the big state buildings loaded with under worked state employees, the state is that stupid that it would actually farm the task of verifying Ids to another state. Wow, this government is really a piece of work.

Who said that they were under-worked? Where's the proof?

It was a question of cost--who could do it for less. Perhaps you'd like to pay more taxes so it would be done here?

I agree, lets lay off 20% of state workers (to start with) and send out all of the "work" of the state to private sector firms that can "do it for less".

As for state workers being underworked... I know for a fact that they are. There are two workers for every one full time job in every government agency. Try visiting any government building at this time of year, do it on a Tuesday morning at say 10:00 AM and count all of the empty desks. Then count all of the computers that are being used for personal purposes, then count all of the workers that are walking around with a coffee in their hand visiting coworkers. I've been there and done that and its sickening.

Check this website out to see what your state and local government employees earn for the little work that they do http://www.twincities.com/dataplanet
You will find many instances of $100,000 per year employees where there are several people employed doing the same job. I suppose this is so they always have one of them on duty while the others are on vacation, sick leave, family leave, etc, etc.

It's a damn crime. Those state "workers" are averaging over $88,000 (Public wages.com ) when you add in salary and benis. Go ahead, go on strike. Who would ever notice, or care?

I don't know all of the details of this situation, but if they are truly outsourcing putting employees through eVerify-that is ridiculous. I work in HR and we use eVerify. It takes all of 2 minutes to enter an employees information into eVerify and get either a confirmation or non-confirmation. With a non-confirmation, there is addition time and work needed but that should be a rare exception.

If you want to see real criminals look at Ellen Anderson in district 66. Some one tell me how it is that she claimed almost $22,000 in bogus expenses last year? Or that fat fraud Sandy Pappas claiming almost $30,000.? WTF is going on with you idiots that keep electing these criminals? How about Rick Olseen? Almost $25,000. Fake! Land Jockey!

Are you crazy? State employees are some of the best paid, least worked people in this country! Wake-up and smell the coffee! If the state employees had to work in the private sector they would be lost!

Another example of the state wasting money. It only takes a couple minutes to use e-verify, which any COMPETENT worker with a reading skill of an 8th grader can use.

Well well well I see the dummies are in full force here. Gov employees are over worked, under paid and catch it from the public, the law makers, the boss and fools like some of you. If we did not need gov workers and all was farmed out to whereever we would be back to having Gov workers tenfold in no time.

I'm just surprised that all these people who claim that all state workers are overpaid and underworked don't get a state job themselves.

If it's such a good job and so easy to do then why aren't YOU people doing it?

It can't possibly be a case of sour grapes here now could it?
