I would like to have the opinions of locals who live here. Are there any good churches around. One's that aren't you know...weird?

And, how about friendliness? I guess that would mean you, lol!

I also will need a handyman to fix up few things around the house, any good ones in the area?

How about medical care? Especially pain management? I have a pain management now in Tulsa, but I've been told by others that many small towns treat you like a "druggie" if you require pain managment treatment. I have severe chronic pain.

Shopping is another issue. Hopefully there are good grocery stores in the Bella Vista, and Bentonville area with good fresh produce and meats.

Last but not least, what about entertainment/and nightlife for younger people,(not retirees)?

Thanks for any help!

I can only speak regarding Bella Vista...it is in turmoil right now...focus on Rogers, Bentonville or Fayetteville.

I would steer clear of Bella Vista, i bought there not being aware if the POA and their headaches they cause. Code enforcement with the city is also a joke. I sold out and took a loss just to get away. Bentonville or Rogers would be your best shot....

Bella Vista is a good place to live. About 1/2 population is younger and 1/2 older. Governing is a little different with both a City Council and a Property Owners Association, but you get used to it. Great walking and biking trails connecting to the area. Too many golf courses.Access to Bentonville schools or smaller Gravette schools depending on your choice of area. New website bellavistabuzz.com trying to provide some pertinent information about the area and keep up with city and POA activities.

bellavistabuzz.com yea right!

Just be sure to watch out for that Bella Vista stinger.

Move to Bella Vista, and you may get stung, right in your back pocket! Ouch!

We are also thinking of moving to Bella Vista. What are the problems? What are all the things you didn't like about it?

#1: If this new assessment increased isn't passed (and it won't be) the POA is in serious financial trouble. The POA is already spending more than it takes in as revenue. Go to the Bella Vista website and read the minutes of the board meetings for further info.

#2: There is really not much here that gives support to a town of 26,000 people. Driving to Wendys for a burger is a 30 mi r/t. If you get medical care from the VA that is nearly a 70 mi r/t. Trip to the local Pinnacle Hills mall??? yep 35/mi r/t. Most of the milage put on our vehicles is simply driving to necessary places that don't exist in Bella Vista. Even a trip to Lowes for us is 15 mi. r/t.

#3: Far too many homes here are in foreclosure and many others are abandoned an in disrepair. Our property values have fallen through the floor and homes are very difficult to sell.

In other words, if you want to be a part of the problem? Welcome to Bella Vista. If you'd rather not head down that road, living in Bentonville or Rogers, even Then when you tire of the BV drama, simply stop paying those dues and the POA will eventually foreclose on the lot.

10 Things the Bella Vista Village POA Won't Tell You

1. "We can't wait to get our hands on your money (and your home)"
2. "We're more secretive than the CIA"
3. "When in doubt, we sue"
4. "You won't be able to sell when you want"
5. "We're poorer than we look"
6. "We can make up the rules as we go along"
7. "We don't want you at our meetings"
8. "We're in over our heads"
9. "We work for nothing but get compensated in other ways"
10. "We're incredibly petty"

Just type "POA" into the search bar and read the threads.

As far as friendliness, I believe the city government and the BVVPOA have both placed a ban on being friendly.

If you are simply trying to assess the general vibe of the Bella Vista POA go to Wikipedia and type in "Auschwitz".

As far as entertainment/nightlife, think Lawrence Welk.

Traffic...lots and lots of traffic. Hiway 71 traffic comes to a stand still between 7am to 8am, and again from 4pm to 6pm. This traffic is due to employees going to and from work @ Walmart. Add to the problems from the hundreds of semi trucks going thru each day...and contrary to what people are saying, the Bella Vista bypass will do very little to help.
