If your asking if board members receive a check, that is no. Not even gas money for scheduled local meetings.

I believe if they go on a trip for business, they may be reimbursed for expenses. That's about it.

Doctor Evil told me he saw Bella Vista "Fat Bastard" on TV news channel 5.

I just had to see it so I looked it up. Here he is, the POA General Manager aka Bella Vista "Fat Bastard" :

Do you remember me (Austin Powers) in the movie, "The Spy who Shagged Me" ?

Well, there will be a sequel to that movie that will only be shown in the movie theater located in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

The movie title is:

"The POA General Manager Who Shagged the Bella Vista Residents"

Coming very soon to the movie theater in Bella Vista!

I agree on what someone else already wrote on this thread.

The Bella Vista POA needs to go away.

The membership should be voting to transfer all POA assets over to the city to go under a city park and recreation department.

A question is, why is this not happening?

I believe that a reason why is, because certain top POA employees with tenure are drawing fat paychecks and benefit packages so they are living high on the hog and don't want to loose their cushy jobs.

It's a vey big shame that protecting the jobs of a few seems much more important that doing what is best for the Bella Vista community as a whole.

The time has come for the Bella Vista POA to go away as in disbanding / total dissolution.

That is what the members should be voting on now.

By the way Bella Vista movie goers, there is another superhero featured in this sequel movie: "The POA General Manager Who Shagged the Bella Vista Residents"

His name is Jim P., a Bella Vistan. Jim has taken on Fat Bastard before!

Bella Vista residents need to cheer for Jim to stop Fat Bastard from shagging over the Bella Vista residents.

Go Jim! Stop Fat Bastard!

Dale Carnegie wrote a book called "How to Win Friends and Influence People". To do this requires time, cooperation, compromise, and finesse.

Here quite the opposite, an ideology of the Bella Vista POA:

"How to Rule with an Iron Fist and Destroy POA Membership Trust"

The latter serves as an example on what NOT to do!

"BELLA VISTA VILLAGE PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING - DRAFT
JANUARY 17, 2013 6:00 P.M. COUNTRY CLUB BOARD MEETING ROOM"

"VII. OPEN FORUM
One member said he will promise to vote for and support the POA Board campaign to raise monthly assessment fees if the Board will do four things for the membership at the February meeting of the Board: follow the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, remove the nondisclosure clauses on employee contracts, reduce the salaries of the top two administrators by 30 percent, and remove the language in the Conflict of Interest Policy that he said states Board members cannot talk to members.

One member expressed that he finds the proposed assessment to be discriminatory, because the Board has made it publically known that the reason they are not seeking an increase from the unimproved properties is to simply get it passed. He asked what he is going to get for paying an extra $10 a month as a resident of Bella Vista that the nonresident doesn’t get. The member said he believes the non-residents should get an equivalent increase to what is being proposed for the residents.

The Chair said the Board will listen to all members and will be listening to the membership again at the “Talk with the Board” forum on January 22."

Wow, this is interesting and I agree:

"reduce the salaries of the top two administrators by 30 percent"

I believe the top two administrators are the POA General Manager and the Finance Officer.

I'm fairly new in Bella Vista only being here 5 years. I've purchased a new home and built a detached garage on a separate lot. We love the area, our place and our property and hope to enjoy it for years to come. However if the POA decides to raise the dues, I will certainly be looking to sell and move elsewhere. We pay the $24 for our home plus $16 for the lot our detached garage is on... and even that is WAAAAY too much! People work hard for their money and the POA nickel and dimes people to death with their fee schedule. Even just trying to get your boat decals or picture ID is a very negative experience. The system of taking a number and sitting for a couple of hours is ridiculous. You would think that the POA and ACC want to ATTRACT new home owners and keep current ones.. not drive them away.

The Bella Vista POA cannot raise member assessments (dues)without member approval PERIOD. This normally happens using a ballot that will be mailed to you. You own two lots. You should get two ballots which means two votes.

Just be sure to cast your ballots as a NO ! Please encourage your friends, neighbors, church friends and acquaintances to vote NO !

I believe the silent majority will be voting as a NO !

If we all stick together, we will prevail so please get involved when you see the opportunity.

If all goes well, the way most expect, the Bella Vista POA, a parasite, with you as a host, will be nothing more than a memory when they finally go broke. It will be a long, drawn-out death.

If you want to speed up the process, don't patronize POA amenities and cut off all additional discretionary funding to the POA.

Somebody better be sure to double check the ballots. The Bella Vista POA has been known to tell a lie or two when money is at stake.

Yes, be absolutely sure to look over your POA ballot very very carefully on how it is actually worded.
(A "no" could actually mean a "yes")

That's a good point. If the POA would just hire decent people and get rid of all the attitude it might be able to salvage some of the membership's trust. But with all of the bullying that goes on at the meetings and all of the secrecy, the membership has lost faith in Board of Directors and certainly the General Manager.

Now that they need the people's support they don't have it and they have no one to blame but themselves.

The demise or collapse of the Bella Vista POA will can be contributed to:

#1: GREED

#2: LACK of TRUST

They still have some time to show the members they are willing to reverse course. The best thing the POA board can do to start the healing process and to gain some of that trust back is to hire a new general manager. That would be a good start...

Next, implement governing documents that have checks and balances incorporated with transparency and accountability.

Last, they need a board of directors that have the experience and cojones to enforce that new system of checks and balances.

Jeff Long, athletic director was under fire for getting rid of Bobby Petrino. Petrino was a scumbag and they should have never hired him in the first place. Good football coach but had character issues that were prevalent over time.

The Razorbacks had a tough year last year. Some fans even wanted Petrino back. Jeff Long stayed true to his morale principles and stayed on the lookout for a decent man to coach the football team.

Now the Razorbacks have Coach Bielema. He is a very good man, a man of integrity. Morale is sky high right now for the Arkansas Razorback players and fans.

Morale for the Bella Vista POA members is currently in the TOILET and if they don't make a change, the members are going to flush the handle for good!

When you hire a POA general manager, character counts!
