Mandatory annual health and mental inspections along with behind the wheel driving exam for senior citizens 65+ is what this country needs. Too many stubborn old people who refuse to give up their car are hurting people.

best thing about elderly drivers...

If they have sold their home and are living in a retirement community then they will most likely have reduced coverage since they do not have a house to protect.

so it is a double whammy, MUCH MUCH more likely to do this kind of crap, and MUCH MUCH more likely to NOT have adequate coverage.

I am telling you, elderly drivers scare the crap out of me.

I agree with "Casual Male" but why wait until 65? Think of the possibilities. Examine all drivers on a yearly basis. Charge the driver for the salary of the testor, 1 hour for the test. It just boggles the mind. Think of the creation of jobs and the state could charge a fee for the test. Close a budget gap in a very short time. Then when pukes like you fail, force them to use public transportation. More jobs and the state could tax that too. Maybe you should write your representative and suggest it.

My 24-year-old daughter and her boyfriend had just finished eating lunch and were still sitting in a booth when the car came crashing through the window and hit every booth, including the counter where two patrons were seated. The car had my daughter smashed up against the wall. Apparently, if one little detail had been different, i.e., anyone standing, or waiters at tables, or even anyone sitting at the first booth, there would have been people killed. Right now, that's all I care about. No one was killed or even hurt very badly. I thank God for that.

Dear Moron,
Can't wait for someone to say you should lose your driving privileages at a certain age. Elderly people make up for the least amount of accidents and fatalities in the state. It is the driver that is between 18 and 33 that makes up the most injuries and fatalities. Yes the elderly driver does on occassion cause an accident, but what age range does not?. Let those without sin cast the first stone.

Yeah your the type of meat-head that wants the government to place computer-chips in your head to tell you when to speak, as well.

Just this morning I saw the scariest thing....An old man driving with one hand on wheel and other talking on the cell phone. While on phone he was in the middle of two lanes. Scary!!! Thank God there was hardly any traffic.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Cancer

You're much more in command of your emotions today, which is just as well. You can get a lot done, as your personal energy and natural empathy is high. You'll be especially effective when it comes to clearing your desk of all the paperwork, and I'm not talking about shoving it on to the floor, either. If you've been waiting for news of a pay rise or bonus, it could arrive any moment now.
