Anyone get hurt. Unfortunely, I am familiar with the area and some of the gangs around there and I know there has been some tension going on and I don't think it will be getting better anytime soon.

Yes an 18 yr old former bell high student died he got shot on pine ave. then he went to the high school gym were he collapsed in the middle of a basketball game. It hurts me alot that this is happening in bell then i think later on pine and florence some kid in a bike got hit and the driver didnt stop.

I dont' get it, why would you wan't to put your life at risk over nothing, i hope this kid was not gang banging. It's not worth it. Life is so beautiful and so many people don't appreciate it. I've lived in Bell all my life and I can honestly tell you, i have not seen any shootings or anything like that before, i love living here I even went to Bell High, and now that i hear about this, it's scarry. My prayers go out to the family of the kid, may he rest in peace and may god give strength to his family.

I am not from no gang nor have I ever. But my kids dad is. It makes me sick when I see these older "homies" talk about how if only they had made different choices and blah blah blah. The next thing I know that same person is telling the youngsters to bring in their friends. What I can't understand is how can a person who has experienced gang life, seen friends die, used or been around those addicted to drugs, been shot, have shot, all of it, how can a human that has gone through this purposely want another to go through this. Not to mention when its brothers bringing in brothers or fathers proud cause their son is in the hood. I just can't grasp it. You got 40 year old G's looking hard as can be. Full of tattoos intimidating others. I don't think they realize its the same sh*t they have been doing all their lives. That is as good as its getting. It might be fun or interesting when you are 16 but when you are 35-40-45...Its sad because I dont think they realize what losers they are to the rest of the world. I don't know if I make sense but it makes me angry, sick, and sad at the same because they themselves are helping their "homies" whom they will die for kill themselves....does not make sense to me.

I live in the city of Bell , I can honestly tell you Bell Police dept. is not doing enough to control the gang growth in the area. Bell p.d. is extremely efficient in harrasing regular drivers for a brake light malfunctioning or impounding vehicles from drivers without license since they know is a big revenue for them when theses cars are sold at the auction. Bell p.d. wake up call this is.do something bell is a small city and it is out of control, gang activity and grug dealing is major here.

its sad to know that the young mans parents thought their son would be back home and then suddenly cops show up to their door and tell them their 18yr old son got killed.
the cops in bell really dont do anything so it does not surprise me that they are not doing enough to control the gangs in bell. trust.. i live in the city of bell and i know most of the cops in bell and it saddens me to know they do not do much about it.

their is alot of cops in bell because for the past sevral days their has been around 4 to 5 shootings around the neighborhood, the cops found a gun on a freshman on tuesday outside of school and because shit is getting crazy around here..!!!

well i heard about this shoot out a while back and it saddens me to hear that they is more voilence now. its true bell police maywood police huntington park police dont do nayhting to strengthen themselves. supposevely they started this new thing in bell high school that you cant enter the school without a id hanging in your chest well i dont see anyhting better coming out of that. i dont live around there anymore but if i did i would do something to help out the community and if i can i will help out. bell needs a lot of help to control all this gang voilence for the youngersters that are watching and learning these things. i was aroung there a week ago walking down atlantic towards h.p and some young little boy walks up to me<he is no older than 15, and asks me if i got a buck on me i look at the boy and hes shaking and sweating. there is no doubt that boy was on drugs. i know so try to better things around there

this lid was banging Kansas St Gang gangs have been around forever they started to as a protection for raza when white people were abusing us but now we kill each other yeah it sucks but its a way of life some of us are born into it and can escape others welcome it Luis Rosas was my friend til he put a gun in my face for being for living in Huntington Park we knew eaach other since middle school and he didnt care!!! I knew then that he would never amount to nothing its sad but he got what was coming, and the gangs they'll never die maybe evolve but disappear never..........

I retired from Bell PD in 1979 and now live in East Texas. The people here don't know how lucky they are that they do not have the gang bangers like Bell and Cudahy. I don't miss working those gang shootings and stabbings. It hurts me to see how messed up the the city is in. I moved to Bell when I was 4 years old, went to Corona Avenue School and Bell High. Bell use to be such a good place to live, not anymore. The gangs have ruined the community.

yes i agree with you ... sometimes i wish i wasnt living here in Bell or California like last night it ashames me how our OWN RAZA cant behave like normal people... the cops were not being a-holes about us driving near staples center slow or u know fans celebrating and having a good time.. but then i go watch the news and what do I see stupid people acting stupid .. no wonder they see us how they see us like bad people... why cant we just act like decent people ... if you wanna do shit do it to youre own house but dont go around acting dumb sin educacion que verguenza para sus padres o que? asi los criaron?
