I was learning to use "was and were" correctly and how to spell "their" and some grammar. I went to the school of Hard Knocks and I learned a few skills. As hard as it might be for you to comprehend, not everyone worships a football team or athletics and especially Belfry. Get a life.

And the school I attended did not recruit from 3 counties and two states. So it is a shame not state title, it says something though, 3 years back to back and still can't get the job done. All the support and recruits, what's the deal?

Put the idea where ever you want, you might have won some games, but you're are not a Champion until you win it all. And Belfry should be use to the trail of tears. Sorry, that's the way I see it.

We have no trail of tears at Belfry we have one of the best football programs in the state. Maybe we didnt win a championship but runner up is nothing to hang your head over. All other schools wish they had the chance to play in bowling green and we do. Think about this no one else is beating Central either.

Like I said, The Trail of Tears. Just a heads up for ya. Yes, others have beat central in the past three years. They have not gone undefeated.

You might live on pond creek, but your football hasn't walked on water yet, nor ever will, contrary to your belief.

Maybe one of the best, but you're not in the best league yet. Runners up are the losers to winners.

Can you say AZZ again...LOL.

Yes, Jesus did walk on water, but who walks on it in Pond Creek....LOL.

I have no loyalty to any school in the area, but I do understand the other posters perception of your area. Call it what you want, I call it ignorance and you peraonally personify their perception.

Get a grip om yourself and learn some grammar and sentence structure.

And all I know about 3A situation is that it hasn't been Belfry that's beat Central in the past several years. In the big spectrum of things called life, and contrary to your belief the pond creek nation don't rock my world.

We dont care "DICK". WE love and support our kids. Just because you abandoned yours for the crack pipe dont hate us because we want our kids to succeed in all the things they do in life. In the last 3 years no one in 3a has beat central. Sports teaches kids structure and disipline. I support all sports in our school. It can help keep kids off drugs and out of trouble. Hate us if you must but we are one of the most succesful programs in the state and few compare to the POND CREEK NATION as fans!!!

Actually, I don't think anyone wants to be be compared to pond creek....LOL I see where all your intent is well, but it's not working...LOL. And to be successful and disciplined I would learn how to spell it.

I have no hatred, but I do laugh a lot.....LOL.

Belfry would probably have more educated kids graduating each year if they DIDN'T have sports! Those ball players are the next thing to Gods in that damn school, and get so many breaks its ridiculous! I've seen some of those boys in past years, that couldn't place together proper sentence with correct spelling if their lives depended on it. Good thing it doesn't! No, they dont have to be educated, most of them were givin a free ride through school because the teachers wouldn't dare give them the grade they deserve for fear of them not being able to play in the game. And if its not the teachers, its the other kids doin their work for them. Its okay though, they'll recieve scholarships for being able to run with a ball to a school where they don't have the education to make it through one semester. As for keeping them off drugs...ROFLMAO.! Go look up a few of the ball players from years gone by, guaranteed you'll plenty of 'em strung out on pills or coke with a blunt in their hand! Out of trouble? Have you honestly not paid attention to the trouble some of the former Belfry football players have gotten into?! Structure and discipline? Those need to be taught by parents, not left up to a school sport..thats what is wrong with the world anymore, to many parents that expect other people to do their jobs, and then won't admit it when there kids turn out a little fucked up.

And BTW, maybe there hasn't been anyone beat Central in the past THREE years, but in 2009 Paducah beat 'em..and in 2010, Central didn't just BEAT Belfry, they stomped yall's ass 46-7. You may have loyal fans, but its because most of them are men still living in the glory days wishing they were part of the team, and the rest of the "pond creek nation" doesnt have anything better to do than sit through Belfry games because this area freakin sucks, and if they werent Belfry fans, they'd end up sitting at home or laid up in a bar all weekend. As for being a successful program..any program could be successful if they had some of the best players from other counties and states being brought in..lmao.

Here's an idea for all you Belfry brainwashed "fans", wake up and realize theres more to this world than the good ole Pirates.!

So, people get on here and say that because fans support the Pirates they have no life? They post it on an anonymous website, which has the worst reputation of any website around. We all have interests in the world. Some of us like cars, some like fishing or hunting, and some of course like football. Just because you don't see things our way, doesn't mean we're in the wrong. The value that Coach Haywood teaches the children at that school is the value of hard work. People want to say "if Belfry is so good why aren't all their players going to college?" it's because of size, and because Belfry doesn't always have the most talent. The work ethic you learn from football carries into guys who are hard working COAL MINERS, or CONSTRUCTIONS WORKERS, or even PLUMBERS. Not everyone in this world is made to be a doctor or a lawyer. Some people have to get their hands dirty and be hard working individuals. They learn that character and hard work by busting it every day at football practice. As for academics, some teachers are a little easier, but that doesn't go for football players that goes for everyone. I know a few football players who have been kept from dressing (good ones, mind you) because their grades did not meet standards. However, in this society we live in we only want to point out the negatives, why does no one mention the lineman who went to school the year I graduated who had a 4.0 and is in Med School? Or the current Belfry football player who has a 34 on his ACT? That's because everyone wants to be negative. The fact of the matter is it is a kid's decision to push himself in the classroom. I can assure you Philip Haywood checks report cards before he allows anyone on the field. I also think a lot of the kids who say the football players and athletes do not realize that those kids are a bit more social and teachers develop a liking to them. They don't dislike the other kids by any means, they just never hear from them. I would never cheer against anyone, I want to see everyone succeed. Whether it's the Tug Valley basketball team, a local band formed of 4 less-popular students, an academic team, or even a Belfry student with a nice car entering a car show. Just because you don't like Belfry football, or you're not a part of the "Pond Creek Nation" doesn't mean you have to trash it. Are there former Pirates will drug problems? Absolutely, but there are former EVERYTHING with drug problems. It is no coincidence the ones you see starting on Friday Nights usually stay out of the most trouble, as well. There are exceptions, there are ALWAYS exceptions.

And as for Central, they are 49-1 in 3A. You talk about Belfry getting talent from elsewhere? Central has open enrollment for all of Jefferson County, which has a population in the millions. Even if Belfry does get kids from Mingo County, they still don't touch the pool that Central gets from. Finally, kids don't come to Belfry from Mingo County because of the athletics. Mingo County schools was overtaken by the state a few years ago because of the horrible test scores... so when a kid says "I'd like to play football at Belfry" ... Mom and Dad say "well, the education is better too." Look at both sides before you hate!
2 thumbs up
