This is not a joke!!! I was driving past Dix Fork yesterday and there is a new club (clubhouse included) on the side of the road. It is called "The Appalachain Brotherhood" They have an official flag and sign and the whole nine yards. So the jist here is there are actually grown men who have started a super cool club where they probably have secret handshakes and codewords and probably pay dues to a treasurer and have a president and vice president and all the stuff 12 year old boys do when they want to keep girls away. Shortly after I passed this fine establishment, a couple of these good ol boys passed me on loud, noisy, motorcycles with embroidered jackets, yes, embroidered jackets with the club name. So here is the thing. There are two groups of people who dress up in funny clothes and make as much noise as possible to get noticed: these guys in their leather clothes and loud bikes, and 15 year old girls.

This club is a great idea, and I for one am happy to see that run-down old firehouse being put to good use. Let's also not forget that it's an unalienable right in our Constitution to be able to form clubs and meet regularly. It's obviously not some Little Rascal's type clubhouse, they're representing this area in a positive way. Let's face it, our area has had a pretty poor reputation lately, and it's people like the Appalachian Brotherhood that can turn it around.

Leave the little boys alone, They have manhood issues and need there club house. Some men needs that feel of brotherhood, You know, something to feed that complex ego to help fill a lack of manhood.

I am a local person who knows most of these people. They are men and women, so you are totally wrong about women being excluded. The are going to do charity rides to help the local people. I think its sad you guys are putting them down and someday it might be your family with cancer or heart disease or just needing a toy for your kid at Christmas. They are fixing up the building and property now so they can start trying to help our community soon. As for manhood, most are happily married men who dont need to prove anything to anyone. I know if you were broke down on the side of the road.. twenty cars would pass you but these people would stop to help you.Give it a year then lets see what your comments about them are....

Hey Men!!! Why does this bother you so bad? I am from big Creek and know alot of them and believe me I do not doubt any of them being real men!!!! The only reason this could possibly bother you or even concern you is JEALOUSY!!!! They are not bothering you so mind your own buisness if you dont like them or their club house DONT LOOK!!!! My personal opion of you already is that you could Never be man enough to belong to any club as cool as that anyway!! Sounds like a personal problem!!!!! If it bothered you so bad when you drove by and you are so manly instead of acting like a little boy why didnt you just say it to them??????????

This is the first time I have ever been mad enough to comment on topix about anything but as I read what you so called men had to write about on here, I seriously doubt you should be worrying about any of the members of The Appalachian Brotherhood getting or finding women you should be worried about finding one yourself. You all sound like little boys!!! This is a free country!!! Mind your own buisness I mean really!!!!!!!

CRICKETT,
We are an AMA chartered non profit riding club. We welcome any rider men and women regardless of race or what brand of bike you choose to ride, not just HD.
We are moving into a new clubhouse on Dix Fork that is a lot nicer. Yes we do get together on the weekend and hang out around a fire listen to music and go riding together, but our focus is to help our community.
Our big project will be a Thanksgiving food drive where we will raise as much money as we can, as well as food donations and put together Thanksgiving dinner baskets for as many families as we can that otherwise might not have a special dinner that day.
We all know times are hard and a lot of good people work every day and still come up short being able to have any extras like a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.
If you ride and enjoy hanging out with like minded bikers and doing biker stuff and are interested in what we're about or just curious feel free to stop in and say hey.

Just wanted you to know that you might wanna find a better 'screening' method for your members if you really want people who are out there to help the community. I personally know of some of your members who participated in a local benefit fundraising ride then bashed it afterwards calling it 'lame.' If you're truly doing this out of the kindness of your heart, and to help this community, these types of comments wouldn't be made. I'm not saying all the members are like this, but definitely some.
