Kent Evans was a useless leach when he was a County Commissioner, he was only out for himself and whatever monies he could somehow direct his direction without getting caught. When he finally got off the Commissioner Board, it took him six months to return the County owned laptop that was issued to him as a Commissioner.

You can be sure that his "little per diem" was padded so heavily it would take an 18-wheeler to haul it to Santa Fe where his buddy "Fat Bill" would ensure it was paid without question.

I don't have any use whatsoever for Martinez, but here she did the right thing in clearing out the directors and management of the Spaceport. Maybe now she can get people in there who are more interested in advancing the Spaceport instead of advancing their own personal interests.

Evans said the previous commission worked hard and did a good job.

"None of us were paid a penny, except maybe a little per diem," he said. "There was not anything wrong on the board's part."

He was paid in free meals.....

Another good move by the Governor. Just look at the list of outgoing and interim boards. No comparison.

Another stinky, purely, political action ; that's all it is. This stuff has been going on since I can remember (early Fifties) and I'm sure it was going on since before the admission of New Mexico to the Union.

Looks like they have not missed to many meals. I thought Evans was Susana's go to person and he gets canned?

Job well done by the new governor. Too many of these people have been well paid for not much work. Evans is a good example of someone who is a leech on the taxpayer and has been for a long time.

You can bet the commisionors are worried. The new Governor is going to ruin their parade of free money from our pockets. Party's over folks. Soon the space port will be a drag strip or maybe a new fairgrounds. This is going to be the scam of the century exposed.

D. Kent Evans is a lot more concerned his fellow Tea Bagger traveler, the Hispanic Sally Struthers look-alike, dropped his big fat bohind than the future of the Spaceport.

With three federal and state pensions, Evans' primary concern always is how can he get more?

And after numerous ballot rejections by his own kind and in the general elections, Evans has realized only an appointed position remains.

And of course, the only time he lies about anything is when his mouth is moving.

So sorry, D. Kent. I believe you have reached the last rut of your chuck wagon career.

' "There's no question that the spaceport can bring jobs to New Mexico, but long-term success will require the right leadership," Martinez said.'

So nobody really griped (except the University regents) when Bill Richardson demanded the state university regents's resignations even before Richardson was sworn in over 8 years ago. Martinez is doing the same sort of thing. Same smelly [email protected] - different person, party, and publicly funded entity.

"Tom Hutchinson, chairman of the board for Citizens bank... has been named to the transition team.... Other members of the team include: Garrey Carruthers, former governor of New Mexico and currently the dean of the College of Business at New Mexico State University; Sherman McCorkle, president and CEO, SS&TP Development Corporation; Christine Anderson, director of requirements at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; Sid Gutierrez, former NASA astronaut and former manager of Strategic Initiatives Department at Sandia National Laboratories; and Dan Keeling, CPA, vice president of internal audit at Sun Healthcare Group."

Sounds like business, university, and federal government related people rather than folks with strictly local/regional political ties.

So tweak it a little, and use it a futuristic sci-fi movie set and tourist attraction. It's likely to bring in more money that way.

Does D. Kent Evans even have a real job other than providing quotes to the newspaper every day?
