Julissa may have been 15 when she married her husband but he certainly wasn't 33 years old at that time. Why did that even need to be in the story?

That's easy... it establishes a pattern of behavior... he liked little teenage girls. Julissa was a little teenage girl when he married her, and now she's too old and he wants a new one.

this story is so crazy. it almost seems like a hoax! I mean, I know it's real and very disturbing, but it seems like something straight out of a movie!!!!

"I'm just waiting for an eviction notice or a shut-off notice so the FIA (Family Independence Agency) can help me," Julissa Jaimes told The Daily News of Greenville for a story Thursday.

Awesome.

Julissa Jaimes, 27, said the couple's four children, ages 7, 8, 10 and 11, are U.S. citizens

Fabulous.

My prejudice is directed at the sheer laziness in that statement.

"I'm just waiting for an eviction notice or a shut-off notice so the FIA (Family Independence Agency) can help me,"

Sometimes, it's up to us as adults to help ourselves.

give the poor lady a break...get a clue. Her husband left her with 4 kids, no money and he didn't allow her to work. Even if she were to get a job right not she wouldn't beable to pay the bills. This is what the help is for when people are in need like this lady. Besides imagine the pain her and the kids are in, they need time to heal and restart their lives. What they need is our prayers not critcizing remarks.

now, don't jump to conclusions; apparently she had her head in the sand and never saw this coming; and you CAN'T LET THE CHILDREN SUFFER FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR PARENTS

You're telling me that at no time in the last 18 years, during which time she popped out four kids, did she realize she was married to a complete loser. And now, after 18 years, she just throws up her hands and says "Wow, I didn't see that one coming, NOW GIVE ME."

Once again it all comes down to personal responsibility, and some people making a person who has continually made poor decisions into a victim who need our help.

"Every time he would go where they live she would go out there and they would talk for hours," Julissa James said. "I don't know how her parents could let a young lady talk to an older man."

She had her head in the sand and never saw this coming???

I'm sure they're not in that much pain. They got rid of the loser, and just think about all the government cheese they'll be eating for the next 12 years.

have you ever heard of an abusive relationship??? obviously not. and regardless of how horribly rotten this guy was to his family I am sure they are hurting. Not everyone the goes on public assistance is lazy. Sometimes people just need a helping hand to get their lives going again. I pray this is the situation here. Another thing, this lady has been working, raising kids trust me this is a very important and difficult job.

Whoops, I guess it was only 12 years. That makes more sense since their oldest kid is 11. No sense waiting until you're financially prepared to have kids. Just start popping them out and get in line at the FIA.
