If you will notice in the majority of these posts from parents they can not even spell well enough to have gone through school. I realize that is not the issue, but we have an intelligent young man that makes all A's, has great personality, never been in trouble, makes a smart a-- comment to sounds like some redneck boys that pissed them off and they felt like they needed to get back at him. Listen, I don't even live in your state, I just happened to read this article and I can see so much contempt here. Why did these boys not go to their teacher, counselor, principal or someone instead of going straight to 911 before making such an issue of this? The school maybe could have suspended or whatever their handbook said they needed to do in a situation like this. The boy did not even have a weapon of any kind with him; the weapons at home were not even loaded and were locked up. He was faithful in his church. Back to the parents that can't spell; these parents are the ones sending their children to school, not being able to help them with their studies, not letting anyone else help them for fear that their child will know they did not study as they should have in school, and these kids can not keep up so they get in trouble and don't make good grades to look like the big man on campus. Well these two boys have just become real popular. Let's see how they turn out in 10-15 years. Is there any way we can follow their lives like we are following this young man, Dan's life?

Becky, you are totally right. It is a shame you do not live in Michigan. I know this situation from a close standpoint and I am really hoping this will not affect (more) Daniel's bright future. It is a shame things like this happen, we are becoming paranoid androids without judgment.
The Media must be happy to have some circus for the crowds.
