I'm not a huge fan of WZZM's website, it's hard to navigate, but their news stories are so much more descriptive. WOOD had only three lines about this story.

Anyway, hope they catch the guy. Being that it was Belding, the guy was probably drunk.

I sure hope that they find this person, the way most people are driving today, we need our Police Departments in every community to increase patrol for speeders. It seems the more gas prices goes up, the faster people drive and disobey the traffic laws. Slow down people the life you save, just might be yours or a friend.
God Bless America.

Age has nothing to do with drinking alcohol. Maturity does. I started drinking at home when I was 16. I knew that when drinking I shouldn't leave the property. I would work in our garage, tinkering with my motorcycle and car and have a few whiskey and cokes.

Even now, 15 years later, I have never operated a car with alcohol in my system. I guess having a wife who rarely drinks or a circle of friends with a DD makes life easier.

Not every body in belding drinkd all the time. Being the circumstances that is what i thought but just because it happened in belding doesn't make it a drunk. Drunk drivers hit people all the time not just in Belding!! This is just a sad situation and i hope the person make a full recovery!!

lets ban alcohol all together.
yes its been tried before and failed but that was a different era and times have changed.
we don't need drunks roaming our streets and killing our children.
The anti smokers have shown us the way, we can learn from their example how to impose our will on others.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I have ran over a rabbit and I want to stop to see if it was dead or not. I could not imagine hitting a person and taking off! It makes me wonder though this happened @ 2:20 am. My first thought is possible someone that has been drinking, and doesn't want the police involved. Obviously the person driving must of knew he/she hit something or someone the police said the car would have heavy damage on the passanger side of the car. I am sure the driver knew they hit something!

I cried for ten minutes after I hit a turtle!
I didn't realize this was at 2am, though. Kind of wonder what someone's doing out walking that late, and if they were wearing visible colors or not. Not to shift the blame, I mean if you hit something as big as a person, you should check it out. Though, a friend of a friend hit someone late at night and thought it was a deer. He stopped, but didn't see anything cause the guy flew into the ditch. So, I guess there are always exceptions.

OK let me get this straight. You believe that the mature choice at age 16 was to have a few whiskey and cokes while working on your motorcycle or car? How is that a balanced decision? I know that I wouldn’t want to drive a car that someone wrenched on while consuming a few whiskey and cokes. Hmmm another example of how alcohol and motor vehicles don't mix. I’m surprised that someone with an MBA from Harvard would post such an unqualified statement ---tisk- tisk. You know what they say: You can take the boy out of Greenville…..
