Then we should stop teaching evolution as well since it is in reality a religion. It takes inordinate amounts of faith to believe that we spontaneously came into existence from inanimate matter. And no matter how much the scientists tout their evidence promoting evolution, when it is looked upon in the grand scale their evidence is minuscule and pathetically flimsy. Freedom of religion is truly freedom of religion only when it includes all creation theories.
A frailty of the religious argument against a rational universe is that many appear to have no concept of a world view that does not revolve around emotional faith. Is there some structure of the brain that inhibits critical analysis and error checking? Is the very idea that someone does not replace a faith in God with something else literally unthinkable to them? Maybe that group should seek protection through the first amendment AND the ADA.
