The Sad Bel Air Police Department

It is quite sad that innocent people are being shot in Bel Air. So after a couple of robberies, the police are now going to be PROACTIVE in keeping an eye on potential targets. Maybe if they were not so busy raising revenue for the State of Maryland and were more vigilent for potential crime , some of these things might not happen.

It all gets back to who do the police work for? The people or the comptrollers office?

To all the "cop bashers" - unfortunately our police reflect the society they come from. If you want better police, build a better society - starting with self.

Now that crime is starting to get out of control here in Bel Air, with the gas station shooting and more robberies like the pizza shop, pharmacies on 22, I guess the local police departments are going to have to reevaluate their mission and decide if they want to continue being revenue agents for the Comptrollers Office or do some real police work and protect local businesses and citizens.

I had to laugh, the night the pizza shop got robbed, I was returning from a trip and noticed the locals were running radar on 22 (too funny). Maybe if they had been driving through business parking lots, getting out of the patrol car (that would be a first) and walking into businesses open late, these things might now happen? It's all about prioities. The real hypocrisy of it all is that these cops raise all of this money for the state that the local jurisdictions never get back. Because of the politics, Harford County never gets its fair share of the goverments dime. Think I am kidding, why aren't we getting BRAC money like A.A. County?

First Off idiot, Pizza is NOT located in the juridiction of the Town of Bel Air. Secondly, municipal police depts do receive monies from the state with your reference to traffic tickets. As far as BRAC, I am not sure.
If you are out late at night, the only thing open in the town are bars, McD's and 7-11. I do recall seeing Officers in these locations. So your beef is with the State Police and the Sheriffs Office.

Typical cop answer, use deragatory terms, insult everyone and pass the blame on everyone else. can never take responsibility for anything. I wonder how many crimes were committed while you were goofing off in your patrol car playing on the internet in Topix.

No one was blaming the Bel Air police, they were just talking about police in general. Obviously, the subject must be touchy for you. If its not in your jurisdiction (which I know its not), why do we see your officers hiding behind buildings in parking lots playing on your pc's outside of your jurisdiction?

I am glad you agree with the post on the ticket revenue. That was the poster's whole argument. That police are so focused on raising money for the State and it NEVER COMES BACK verus being focused on crime PREVENTION which does benefit the community.

I suggest you get to work and stop playing on here. My guess is your probably a bad cop, because the good ones are hard at work solving crimes.

I did read the last post saying "locals". So why wouldn't Corrector assume your talking about the Town of Bel Air. From your previous post, you seem to be pretty upset with the police. Were you arrested by one of them or receive a ticker?

I have a friend who works for one of the Harford co. PD's. Those in car computers do not have Internet access. The Officers are able to send and receive calls and check for driver's licenses and warrants. Thats it.

I know for a fact you can access the internet. The word "local" would depend on your definition. To me anything within 35 miles is local though it might be 5 miles for someone else. Why is it that people always think someone got a ticket because they are stating their opinion? There are many locals like me who have never been arrested nor ever have gotten a ticket that agree with people posting on here that its all about the money. I heard on the radio today that Howard County was starting speed cameras and they never said one word about safety. They just kept emphasizing that the first year would bring in a million dollars to the county. I was looking at a small towns website today for business investment reasons and the website said about the town police departments mission simply - "to protect the citizens from criminals and to solve crimes". I think they got it right.

I cannot speak for D. Rene Kelly-Krogh as an officer and what took place on the job. I can however say this. None of you know a damn thing. Being that I am the man that gave her the reason to leave the dept. She left with me to pursue a life with me in the trucking industry. She did resign. I was with her when she cashed out her pension money at bank. She probably doesn't tell any of you fools the truth, because she ended up with a broken heart, and is probably embarrassed to tell people what actually took place. I am sorry things did not work out for us, but that is just the nature of things. That does not mean that I am not a fair person. She is a good woman, a nice person, and was fun to be with. I am not at all cop material, and have been quite a rebel, all of my life, and having been on the other side of the law, on more than several, ocassions, I can say this as well...I believe She would have been a great Police Officer. i dont want to give any names but im getting ready to place a civil suit on a bel air police officer right now as we speak. Bel air cops need to learn how to control their so called "power" and not get to big headed. They need to not use so much "force" to say it the nicest way.

I continue to be amazed how there are three groups that continue to operate above the law. Some politicians, some police departments and the criminals. My favorite is how none of the driving laws apply to the police. On the Beltway last week, I saw a cop with a cell phone in his left ear being held up by his neck and he was trying to type one handed into the lap top above the center console. Oh yea, and he was driving in the fast lane.

Good study by Texas DOS that showed that some of the worst drivers most likely to either cause and or be in an accident (while not responding to a call) are police officers. I wonder why?

With the amount of corruption written about in daily papers and on the news about the Baltimore City Police Department -- towing scandal --recent perjury incidents highlighted on channel 11 last week --cover-ups, etc. I really wouldn't be too proud that the members are all from the city. That might be a problem.

Say what you want about the city police there is 3500 members of the agency so we are not all "corrupt" so you can't talk about a police agency you have never worked for mr hmmmm ... I'm proud to be from Baltimore city police department, the best training facility in Maryland next to the state police.. The corruption your talking about doesn't speak for the while agency and it's also built up by the media trying to make the department look bad but believe what you will mr hmmm because your one of millions that speak negatively about the Baltimore city police department but have never worked there or not been in a situation where your life is in jeopardy. Internet gangsters really talk a lot of shit about topics they don't know anything about and it's amazing to me. Honestly though mr hmmmm if it makes you feel better saying those things, we can just consider the source and accept the fact your arrogance talks over your rashonal thinking on the police departments.

I just love the arrogant tone of "some" cops on here like you. I would submit you aren't much different then the "internet gangster" you refer to in your ramblings.

For instance, do you really want to go there with the BEST training facility in MD after one of your own shot a trainee in the head a few weeks ago basically goofing off. That should have NEVER happened and doesn't happen in the BEST training facilities. I pray that the trainee recovers and leads a good life.

I don't know much about the B.A. Police, but I would think that when you get YOUR house in order, you can come on here and preach.

Yeah I agree that shouldn't happen in a training facility but again that was one person and your in the academy for 6 months so the training Bpd has and being a patrolman in Baltimore city prepares you for situations you will neer see in any other department and once again someone making a comment about a department they have never worked for... You can't talk bad about any profession that you personally have never claimed ask your job ... Am I right? How can anybody on this blog talk shit about a police officer when all of you could never do the job? So before you all bash the city police department or bel air pd why not become an officer and work there before you run your mouth and make statements ..... Most of you wouldn't even have the balls to work for Baltimore city police so it makes me laugh when you all talk shit about the department ....yes Baltimore isn't LAPD or NYPD or Miami PD but it's a great agency and all police departments in harford county are great departments with nothing but professionalism ... Be greatful for what you have
