What was a 16 year old doing driving a wrecker? I drive a wrecker, and you have to be at least 21 for insurance purposes.

If you are under 26,001 lbs. you do not need a cdl.

you mean the vehicle weight right, so they do not include the weight if it has another vehicle on the trailer?

My thoughts go out to the family.

On a different note... I am firm believer that kids shouldn't be able to get a license to drive until they are 18. Years ago it was alright but nowadays parent's don't teach common sense. Kid's just aren't as bright as they used to be back in the good ole days. Once again, common sense is not that common.

*This is in no way a strike against the family or the boy that died. Just adding that as an after thought.*

I thought if the vehicle was even rated to handle anything above 26,000 lbs. you needed a CDL, and that it was not dependent on the current load the vehicle is carrying?

Not disagreeing with you but how do you expect parents who don't have commen sense to teach their kids commen sense. We live in a society that expects everything handed to them anymore instead of learning what it takes or working their butt off for it. As long as we breed laziness, that's what we get in return. I too am not judging this boy and his parents. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Agreed. the long line of ignorance has been passed down to the point that nothing can be done now. Sad.

Where did he race them? Because I know at TRP there has not been anyone under the age of 18 racing any kind of drag bike.
