Chicago Heights officials said they'll have "one quarterback overseeing everything," in terms of planning for development in the downtown and East Side.

It sure would be nice to have a Metra station, but with the state that Metra is in financially, this probably won't happen.

With the way they are tearing everything down in the Heights,I bet a Metra station is coming.

Hmmm...I don't know how I feel about this. Wouldn't public transportation bring in even more crime to the Heights?

Tearing down the east side would eliminate crime dramatically. Then the City needs to start working on the West side to condemn the house's that are run down and demolish them. Then crime would go way down.

I agree tearing down the east side of Chicago Heights is a very good start to reduce crime and they shouldn't stop there. But I only see having a Metra line going through the Heights causing more problems than good. Don't forget that the Metra line will likely go right through the south side of Chicago to the Heights and vice-versa and will likely become another artery for who knows what.
