Aww, but come on now, isn't the fact that it is dirty and squeaky kind of what adds to the adventure? I remember riding The Tempest as a kid and watching that giant bolt near the motor shake the entire time and wonder what was going to happen next.:-) As a matter of fact, I think this is the exact same Tempest from the old St. Liborius carnival days.:-) |

Crete, Steger at odds over corner with potential
July 6, 2008 BY Lynda Hemmerling Correspondent The 20-year-old land dispute between the villages of Steger and Crete has entered a new chapter. Steger now is willing to let Crete annex half of the 23-acre site at the southwest corner of Steger Road and State Street. Crete acquired the property located in the Steger village limits in 1987. Since the acquisition, Crete has demanded deannexation of the property. Apparently, Crete is unwilling to back down as trustees last week voted against the compromise. For complete story click link below http://www.southtownstar.com/neighborhoodstar... |
|
|
About the story above, Steger should NOT give Crete the annexation rights. It is not Steger's fault that Crete was given(?) property that is in the Steger Village limits. There is more to this than in this story. How about Crete letting Steger tap into the water and sewer lines on Steger road? Maybe then Miller woods could have city water instead of wells and sewer. Any other comments on this issue?

|
I can not belive that the Mayor and our Trustees would even consider letting Crete have the annexation rights!! Go to court then!!! or will that take another 20 years? Let's get this property moving and make some revenue for our town.

Hey is there anyway to find out when and where UNFORGIVEN will play again? Cuz they were awesome! The Chicago Blues Angels were great too! I really enjoyed the bands this year. The fireworks were worth every penny they spent on them. |

Does anyone know what this was for and how much the settlement was? It was approved at the July 7th Board meeting. RESOLUTION NO. 948 AUTHORIZING THE SETTLEMENT WITH THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR

As to the board minutes of 6-16-08, there is a misstatement:
(John Cashman He further expressed disapproval of the addition of cell tower equipment to the existing T Mobile cell tower) I didn't disapprove, it is a good way for the village to increase revenue. I just asked the mayor why when I brought it to the board as a way to increase village revenue, it was a bad idea, and now we have 3. Two towers and I think a third on an existing tower. They didn't say just as in the resolutions they pass are not explained. |
