A friend of mine said they spotted a bald eagle along Big Wheeling Creek in the Elm Grove area the other day. Has anyone else seen them around the area?

Possum, that was a bald hillbilly trying to fly. You must realize in WV theres always strange sightings. The people there are nuts to say the least. I once saw 2 dead birds in Wheeling and when I said to the policeman,"look at the 2 dead birds", the ignorant Possum looked up into the sky!!!!! TaTa for now Lady of Quality

Yes, several are there. I have photos of a juvenile fishing out of the river right by the suspension bridge in Wheeling. According to the birding reports from Audubon and a few others, there are mating pairs in both Wheeling and Weirton. Just to note, the white feathering on the head does not develop until the eagle is about 4 to 5 years old, so it's easy to dismiss it as being just another huge hawk.
