Wal-Mart has done several surveys for your geographical area and it just didn't work to their advantage. I think right now, just be happy you have a Freds Superstore. But hey you can still wish....
O! yeah I forgot that Beebe is so much smaller then lets say Lonoke, Brinkley or Newport lol think before you talk.

You just don't get it do you Mike? If you will do some checking Oh lets say milage between the walmarts you speak of. Ok lets use Newport for example. What is the closest Walmart store to Newport? Searcy? Batesville? More than 10 miles between them? I know it might be a stran on your Mike but please follow me here. The closest Walmart from Newport is Batesville,or Searcy. See the space in between?? OK I hope your still with me Mr Mike because it really gets hard for you from here on. Cabot is what we call at the Wal-Mart corp office is a med size town,Just a little over 10,000 maybe. So it gets a Wal-Mart Super Center. Now Beebe is how many miles away? and what is the pop of that town? So do you really think we are going to put a store in a small town like Beebe when a Super Center is less that 10 miles from it? Do you think the local people of Beebe can honestly support a local Wal-Mart? I think everyday Mr Mike, that is what Walmart corp pays me to do every week. So remain nice when I say this to you Mr Mike. Think before you talk because you have far less education than I do my friend. I have a business degree and have worked with Walmart for the last 8 years doing just this. Everyday we figure, study, and plan where to put new stores and believe me when I say this! Beebe will not be getting a WAl-Mart Store. Now Mr Mike Who's ass is the blackest? Let us people who have the real brains to the job and you just continue playing with you ball and jacks. And let the big boy and girls alone to do there jobs.

cabot's population is between 20k and 30k now donna stackhouse. and all i've read on here is how nice beebe is....do you know why that is? because there is NO big business. big business comes in and f's it all up(cabot is a prime example of that.) beebe residents really want to be more like cabot? well thats "keeping up with the jones'" to the fullest extent.i live in beebe...i want it to stay small thats why i bought my house here. just so everyone is aware WARD will have a wal-mart before beebe will. i do agree with the community center and library. but a freakin wal-mart...ya'll have gotta be outta ur damn minds!!!!!

Well Alicia, I have worked with in the Walmart corp for several years but I will have to agree with you on the most part about putting all the small Mom and Pop business out of business but it todays economy and today's society it is a dog eat dog world out there. Mayberry can't stay Mayberry forever. You have to keep up. Tell me why would you pay $3.00 for a loaf of week old bread at a Mom and Pops grocerery when you can get a fresh loaf for $1.79? The reason small family owned business are closing is because they can't keep up with the buying power like walmart and bring people the lower prices in the long run. It is keep up or get eatin by the bigger dogs. Yea everyone feels sorry for the smaller pups but hey! you know everyone is hungery now days. Keep up or close out. People need to save all the money they can and get the most of what little income families have now days. Again why pay $200 for a DVD player at a local M&P store when you can get the same thing at a local Walmart for $99?

People can't support our local businesses now. Why in the world would anyone want to build in that type of town??

I'm sure if you *really* work at Walmart they will be real interested in how you are "representing" them and talking to people on here

You'd think that supposed degree of yours would have helped you understand the difference in "too" and "two"

It's already been confirmed and approved. Beebe will have a down-sized Super Center Walmart. Will start construction in September and opening in December. Knight's
supermarket will have to make big changes in order to stay alive.

Couple things, one Wal-Mart needs to fire you, if you are really employed there. You suck at typing.
Two i guess you must suck at your job also, which is another reason, there is a Wal-Mart coming to Beebe, the land has already been purchased and plans for construction have started. Thirdly, i highly doubt the way you talk to people on here is how Wal-Mart wants to be represented so once again they should can you. It amazes me how some folks get out their E-pen and blurt out nonsense that they have no clue about.

Beebeguy, do you know for sure that a smaller SuperCenter is for sure going to be built in Beebe and if so, where is it going to be built? Even though the address shown is Middlesburg, PA, trust me, I do live in Beebe and have for 39 years.

I'm not sure about Jacksonville's, but Cabot's is a great grocery store. really worth the extra distance. But beebe's is a horrifyingly terrible excuse of for grocery store, and it's because of lack of competition. Since Sav-U-Mor has been gone, knights is the only game in town. Cabot's Knight's has Kroger AND WalMart. That's pretty stiff competition.

Local mom and pops? let's see, for food we've got Knight's. Not a local M&P, and just a terrible store (No I really don't like them). for clothes we've got... Fred's? Dollar General? Family Dollar? for electronics we've got... Fred's again? That's horrifying. true, there's a hardware place (hometown hardware) and an automotive place (don's automotive) that might take a beating, but their clientele seem pretty loyal. Face it. WalMart's a good store, and people only go to knight's and the dollar store trio not because they're good but because they're closer than walmart. these places will have to step up or step aside, and they have the resources to Not like it's going to be a supercenter or anything. think heber springs walmart, tops

We actually have confirmed that the property on W Center in Beebe has been bought and sold by the state to be a blackbird sanctuary.

LOL, well friend of the birds, I don't know about the sanctuary, but someone connected with a newspaper told me this afternoon that they believe it to be true that Wal-Mart is coming. I have also heard that the property that is in question is actually in front of the Church of Christ, but I am not 100% sure on that. What I do know is that I wish someone would actually confirm yea or nay about Wal-Mart.

For all you doubters out there, it is a done deal. The Wal Mart Express will be built on West Center Street in Beebe.
