That is a good question to ask. I have heard that for years now. Beebe is a growing town and supports more than twice the amount of the city population with the little communities and other surroundings outside the city limits. I have also heard rumors of a new grocery chain coming but nothing I hear is ever set in stone. I wish someone could comfirm any of our business growth and it would be a shame if people are trying to keep them out!

I have also heard that before, but lets stay positive, we aren't sure if it was just a rumor before also or if something just fell through. It would be nice to get one though. Would help older folks like myself out & give us more options.

Always positive, lol. I would love for once to be able to just go a couple of minutes from the house to shop instead of having to leave town and deal with nightmare traffic like Cabot has, lol.

Maybe we need start a push to get some more businesses in Beebe. Didn't they have an economic development position in Beebe? I knew they had someone holding it at one time but let them go. If the position is still there, then they need to start pushing for the growth of business especailly in retail/grocery. The city is at a size now that it could support more types of businesses, plus it is still growing with no end in site. It would help with more jobs and would keep revenue from leaving the city.

Well, that's one of the things that Mr. Jonathan Gordon put in his ad in the Beebe News several weeks ago. He was running for city council but he didn't win.

I don't know. I am interested as well. I wonder what he will plea? Because if he pleas not guilty then there will have to be a trial and that will take months before that will take place.

Lee. I just wanted to read it and see what he had to say from his own perspective. Most people who aren't on the defensive about things don't question the why over an innocuous request for information.

I asure you there will not be a article in the paper on the accusing of stealing signs. We will let the court decide the outcome. He chooses not to debate on this just to simpley let the judicial system sort it out. Maybe that will help you understand.

@ Local News,I have thought about running for office in the future. When the time is right for me, I will run for office. I just believe the city of Beebe has so much to offer. We need to take care of the people. Make others want to invest in our city. We already have a top notch school. I really believe that if the city would invest in the recreation center, it would have positive impacts. I know Cabot is a much larger city but researching, Lonoke has a similar center for their community. Lonoke is smaller than Beebe in population but has more to offer. I just think if our local government would work a little harder, positive things could come to Beebe.

Beebe had a a shot for a Wal-Mart and passed it up a long time ago, therefore Cabot took it. And, check this out..Your boy Gordan lost the race because he wasn't the popular vote..Gotta love democracy!
