Hello,
I'm a french writer, doing some research on Samuel Barber and looking for fresh information/documentation about the "Capricorn" Villa.
Barber bought this house with his friend Menotti in the 40s and lived there until 1972. During this time, Capricorn became a kind of "artistic Arcadia", an important spot of cultural life in the NY area.
I'd be very interested in contacting the current owners/inhabitants of this house, which is situated near Croton Lake, and I suppose on "Capricorn Lane" (Google Maps show several villas near this road).
If a member of this forum can give me some helpful information regarding this topic, please feel free to contact me directly at pierre.brevignon@gmail.com.
Thank you very much in advance !

Hi Pierre,

I grew up on Capricorn Lane and my family still lives there. From what I know the houses on the road were built upon land owned by Barber and Menotti, but I'm not quiet sure its the same land, though I'm not even sure the villa still exists.

Apologies that I haven't been more helpful

Once you start thinking about them you might decide that it would be nice to see them in person, so why not arrange to get together. If you're going to a Christmas party at work, you should really hit it off with someone who has a lot of clout.
