Kudos to the detectives for standing up for what is right, and for caring about guilt and innocence. According to the District Attorney's reasoning, they are just supposed to sit back and be quiet while an innocent woman sits in prison for a murder she did not commit. As an exoneree who served 16 years in prison in NY for a murder and rape I did not commit whose innocence was proven by DNA Test results which matched the real killer, I understand the unequaled power of DNA to unequivocaly prove innocence and guilt. It should be obvious to any impartial observer that Dejac is innocent and that her former boyfriend is guilty. DNA has proven 208 people innocent across the U.S., and 23 people in NY. The prosecuter is simply looking to preserve a conviction no matter what, regardless of guilt or innocence. The question now becomes whether the Buffalo Court will do the right thing, and whether the citizens of Buffalo will insist that it does by making their voices heard. Silence in the face of injustice is consent. Don't wait until you are personally affected before you act.

I have a petition on my website www.jeffreydeskovicspeaks.org that I would like people to sign which outlines reforms I am seeking to slow down the rate at which innocent people are convicted.
