President Obama today laid out a picture of doom and gloom if sequestration takes place. He said that the cuts were unwise and unfair and would bring pain and suffering to virtually every aspect of American Society.(well except him and Tiger Woods of course)

Problem is the sequester was Obama's idea. The man has no shame, there is no group that he will not exploit for his own political gain.

This statement applies to probably 95% of politicians that reach the U.S. level, regardless of party affiliation.

one must admit, if the one believes in the truth, that Obama has finetuned this politician business into a fine art. that's on the American level of course. He aint got the whatever to be a Bismarck. Or even a Chamberlain.

Obama has demonstrated that he is a politician, not a leader. It is the same ol same ol in politics. So much for that hope/change crap. What is sad and funny at the same time is that 51% of the people who voted, not 51% of the American public who were eligible to vote, were fooled by his dog and pony show. Fooled not once but twice. What is the saying, fool me once.... lol.
In addition to being Chicken Little, he is also the 'boy who cried wolf' as he is constantly making everything seem like it is a crisis. Now I understand why we learn the children's stories. It is so we can use that wisdom to understand the POTUS.

He is leading the repubs around by the nose. He will get the closure of the tax loopholes for the greedy rich and when the economy goes back into high gear we will regain social security and other $ planned to be permantly stolen from the middle class.

does the word rich always have to be preceeded by greedy. that has not been my experience in life. Yes there are greedy rich people, but there are also a lot of generous ones also.

You both are right, there are both greedy and generous represented in rich and poor. But I lapse into Topix hyperbole. It seems to be the style. However, as to the first sentence of my post I'm feeling good at the President and his team dominating the opposing side.

Yes we all engage in a little bit too much hyperbole, hopefully a few salient points get through from time to time.

I truely believe that Obama is an empty suit but David Axelrod and Valerie Jarret are evil geniuses. They have cut the republicans off at the knees at every turn. Before the end of his term, they may actually destroy the republican party; which may not be all bad. Maybe a real conservative party could rise from the ashes.

John Boehner may be one of the dumbest SOBs in the country. He seems to never learn. You can not take a knife to a gunfight.(sorry bout the hyperbole)

I actually think the Republican Party will be fine as soon as Boehner and a few others are gone. The Party needs to give up on lost causes, and learn to pick their battles that can be won.

The core values of the Party are just fine, they just get too involved in battles that are nothing more than a waste of time.

If You will remember, back in the late 80s,and early 90s, the Democratic Party had just about given up hope of ever reaching the White House again. They had almost resigned themselves to trying to hold onto Congress.

Then in the campaign of '92, who singlehandedly saved the day for them?? Ross Perot! He split the Republican Party and the rest is History.

Without Perot, the Democratic Party would have been history as far as the Presidency is concerned.... No Clinton..... or Obama.

Perot knew what he was doing. Democrats, thank Ross Perot!!!!!

Be careful with what You wish for as far as destroying the Republican Party.

I get your point, but I just get so tired of being used by republicans pretending to be conservative until they get elected. When republicans are actually conservative, they win elections.(well not the far left wing ones). McCain and Romney both lost trying to appeal to moderates. The only thing in the middle of the road are dead opossums and deer in the headlights.

i dont see the republican party being destroyed but rather absorbed. i see the party as tails of the heads. the socialists need the appearance of a two party system to keep the American public, especially voter, thinking in the archaic 20th century thought of the two party system. the contemplation of a two party system in 2013 US is a joke.

My mom says, "You can't take your half of the road in the middle." She is very wise. I just love that expression.
