They should be getting a pay cut, not a raise...

Reason for Raise

In criminal terms, the pay raises now are a bribe in hopes Congress will raise taxes now and forget that Obama said he would look at spending cuts later. The creep thinks Congress members can be bought. Maybe they can, may God help us.

I couldn't find a report of that anywhere except in blogs....anyone have a link to a reputable news source confirming this?

Reputable source? The president is not even reputable.

If you could tear yourself away from MSNBC for a few minutes you could get some real news. He will be on Meet The Press at 11 this morning and maybe he will say something about it. Doubt if David Gregory even asks him about it though, too busy hiding his 30 round clips.

You surely are not naive enough to believe that news sources have been reputable in the past several years. Anyway, do you really believe that news media are likely to report anything negative about Obama's activities, especially those involving shady actions?

The point being, which escapes politicians in general, because they are across the Potomac and in never, never, land, they not only don't care how this would look, they don't give a biggen how this would look.

Great timing huh?..Congress approval rating is like 18%.. went up a little so I guess they think they have earned it, and evidently so does the POTUS:)

From what I read it appears that the pay freeze expires on 12/31/12 and has nothing to do with Obama lifting it. I should have known.

No that just shows 53 million voters gullibility.:) Something the savvy salesman depends upon. They were too afraid of the unknown so they chose the known evil. Humans beg for change, yet fear what it brings, so 53 million voted to stay in the same rut in hopes it will turn into the road to redemption.

Until our political system is completely restructured, the taxpaying voter will always be the loser.

Huffington Post. President Barack Obama gave a new Year's gift to returning members of Congress, federal workers and Vice President Joe Biden Thursday, signing an executive order calling for an end to a years long pay freeze. Joe Biden sees a salary increase from $225,521.00 to $231,000.00

There are approximately 150 million registered voters so the way I look at it there were 97 million that didn't vote for him.

No doubt that many voters looked at the two candidates and chose Obama over Romney. Get a better candidate next time...and stop insulting women, gays, and latinos.

Senator Scott Brown criticized the Massachusetts welfare department for sending 478,000 voter registration forms to people on public assistance. Contending that the mass mailings was a ploy to boost the ranks of Democratic voters and help rival Elizabeth Warren's election bid.

Obama has no control over congressional salaries, his salary, or the vice-president's salary. Do some research.

Right on. Next time the Republicans need to get a candidate that will promise bigger and more welfare checks. Increase spending and promise to get the debt limit raised beyond the current,(2016)25 trillion dollars. Also promise to make sure that more than the current 1.5 million babies are "legally" murdered every year. Then promise a health plan where nobody pays for anything, it's all free. Whoopee.
