Doesn't Hollywood profit the most from gun violence?

Good grief... this coming from the individual who just got called out for bungling my posts.
Kennedy was reacting to what he believed to be price gouging by the steel industry during a time of war. He did not use the banking industry to cut-off access to operating capital in an attempt to put the steel industry out of business.
Did you read this statement from the link you provided:
"THE PRESIDENT. I think that my statement states what the situation is today. This is a free country. In all the conversations which were held by members of this administration and myself with the leaders of the steel union and the companies, it was always very obvious that they could proceed with freedom to do what they thought was best within the limitations of the law."
This is still a free country... and gun manufacturers should be allowed to proceed with freedom within the limitations of the law.
Thanks for the link, and for proving my point.
I believe Emanuel could say the same thing as Kennedy...based on the letters he wrote. But Kennedy kept the prices from rising and Emanuel might be as effective with his pressure....I hope he is.

I didn't bungle your posts, I was responding to Shootist's posts where he claimed that you and he believed Emanuel's actions were illegal. It has since occurred to me that Shootist might just like saying "Nat and I" and got carried away....lol

YEP, you didn't go back and read them...Nat and I were arguing the exact same thing.. Only difference is, she was stating it more eloquently than I was:)
ONCE again you do NOT get the fact of his POSITION as mayor, and his influence on what Nat has stated previously..
I haven't heard him mention it again, so maybe his lawyers told him to SHUT UP:)
I haven't heard anyone but you and Natalie mention it....:)

CBS news, not Fox :).. Yesterday....Addressing why Chicago GUN violence is much worse that New York even though Chicago has a much smaller population.

According to them, it seems to be a matter NOT of strict gun laws which Chicago has, but a matter of SENTENCING those getting caught..

New York is much stricter at putting perpetrators away in PRISON...Much more rare for criminals to spend much, if any, time in jail in Chicago whether they use a gun or not.

Could this more "liberal" approach to crime and criminals be THE factor in Chicago's problems?:)

Just for having a gun while doing a crime can get you five years in prison, but Chicago lets these people slide. CBS said, they (criminals) KNOW they will not go to jail. LOL!
Yes, that will keep me from robbing the c-store down the street. Or holding someone at gun point to get him to hand over his wallet.
I was shocked to see this interview on CBS...I rarely get to see the news, and just so happened, I watched this piece.

The jails couldn't hold them all. Chicago would go broke if it sent these thugs to jail for gun possession.

Yep.. Chicago is BROKE now, so it follows they DON'T really want to lock criminals up, thus the merry go round in the circus.
