I need some information on WV Choice which is an in-home caretaking agency. There is no information whatsover on this agency, for my own personal client was given no pamphlet or info pertaining to all of their services. Is this agency licensed or qualified to provide care for the elderly? Thank you for whatever info you can provide. I've tried contacting them numerous times regarding the outstanding balance that they owe me and still waiting.

wv choice in barbousville,wv is the most frustrating people i have dealt with for a while. they are either not at their desk or not in at all. no one knows what the other one is doing and they can't even get the paperwork out for the worker. i have called twice and they say they they are sending it, but i have yet to see it and tomorrow is the last day.

Integrated Resources is a better Homemaker agency. So is the Commission on Aging. I would recommend either of those two.

I highly recommend Mountain State Home Health Care in Beckley. They have the best nurses and social workers in town, and have a good reputation with caregivers.

I could find no mentioning of WV Choice through searching home health care agencies' lists. But, after looking for a long time, information about them can be found at...

WV choice is worse than nursing homes that abuse the patients. These motherF*&&ERS don't even show up and when they do they don't do jack sh*t then they check off that they did everything they were supposed to and if you don't sign that they did they won't send you anyone else. Their workers are so morbidly obese they break the freaking chairs or they're ghetto trash druggies or BOTH. their boss knows all this and she does not care. someone needs to start a lawsuit against them if there isn't one already. DO NOT USE WV CHOICE! all the workers have to do is sit thru a 3 week class and then they are given a test to which the answers are provided. THEY DO NOTHING! THEY ARE SCUM!!!

I went through a three day homemaker aide training course for this company a while back and I was supposed to be CPR and first aid certified through them. I am starting a new job through another home health company as a CNA and I can NOT find a way to contact WV Choice to find out about my CPR cert. to see if I was ever actually issued one...... I am very aggravated by this company at the moment. When you google them nothing hardly come up..... I would really like to know if I am actually CPR and First aid certified..... does anyone know who else I could contact that could tell me??????

a case mgr is suggesting i go to this company- have issues with another agency out of petersburg- no back ups, no ph. calls when no worker available, lack of preparation and paperwork for new workers, poor communication...this company has a office closer to my area, however they do not cover my county ???:(

i had heard cautionary comments regarding wvc before- c. mgr says 'better now'... more on however they do not service my area. after reading posts which are fairly recent- regarding wvc, i am not sure i wouldn't be jumping from the pan into the fire??

just a generic in-house ad. no specifics on individual offices, etc.

i was also looking for more details, ratings, etc. this page is the closest i've come on my search for ANY in-home care agencies.

I have used Wv choice for the last 5 years since i had a small stroke and became disabled. They have always shown up on time and have been a tremendous help to me here in Wheeling. I am moving to Jackson Co in June and they have been wonderful about helping me make the aide transfer. CCIL is also another great agency as well. The mulberry street management site is an excellent listing for contacts, but they are a bit difficult in obtaining contact due to recent changes in medicare and insurance policies and are therefore away from desks quite often. I found the best time to actually get someone on the phone is early morning when they first open. ( between 8 and 10 am ).

You need to go with personal options people! You can manage your own case...get more hours...pay the worker a decent wage and hire whomever...including your family or trusted friend. The companies and case mgt just spend the money on themselves.

i have spoken to rep in wv b. or sr. svcs.- indicated i will give the change in agency a chance- IF it works out =great, if not i am def. going for personal options!

a case mgr. mis=informed? said i would lose case mgt- the b. o s. s. contact said not so, you can 'purchase case mgt. srvcs out of the 'budget.

so we will see.... saying a BIG prayer

Yes ypu can purchase case mgt services...or go with none at all...the reps thru public partnerships will help you with everything...these agencies will tell you ANYTHING to keep you and the money coming in...they make about 2000+ for a level D client...think of the cash the are making. What agency are you with now?
