Sheriff's K9 unit seems to be doing a great job. Thumbs Up to Tanner for bringing it back.

I was eating at ihop the other night and some deputies were in there.i heard them talking about how bloodhounds had tracked some people and they ended up in jail. they ate then one deputy went walking down harper road and another deputy got a bloodhound out a few minutes later and started tracking the other. i thought it was great how they were eating together and talking about catching bad guys then they were practicing with the dog. it was cold has hell. my hat is off to you guys and Tanner. i wish i had got your names.

I heard two deputies called out on Superbowl Sunday to help look for a alzheimer patient. What a great resource! Sheriff Tanner and his Deputies certainly seem to be going the right way.

You guys are getting way ahead of yourselves, just because the deputies do a few good deeds, don't make them promising. That dept needs alot of improvement, where is the sheriff at most of the time other than being viewed when close to election time or something severe pops up to make his appearance on tv or in public to look good, this isn't the way it should be.
I hope someone else gets that position next time around, it's for a person who does care about the community not themselves, and the #1 that would fit that bill more than anyone is Bob McComas.

I had heard on Saturday there was quite a few deputies searching for a guy who got separated from his family in the woods. If I heard correctly on the scanner it was 128, 123 and 138 I think it was out Bolt Mountain. So not all of them are bad surprisingly. Maybe Sheriff Tanner is doing some good? Or whipping their butts into shape, one or the other.

Well it would be a first then, because they are lazy and half do their jobs.

I think they do a great job. I know several personally and it is a hard job. They have to live their jobs because of the way people feel aboput them. Just about every family has someone that is in trouble with the law so, they either hate the cops or want a favor from them so they can't even get close to too many people.
I think the problem is once they put them in jail, the judges let them out. Little bail or no bail.

Well, each person has their own personal opinion, but I have to agree with some of the others on here that there is some major improvements needed, not saying that they can't improve, but it needs enforced alot. And as far as criminals getting busted, it's true, the most of them are back out on the streets in a short time just to do it all over again. The Laws need to be much stiffer than a walk in the park for these people.

It was out badoff (sp) mountain. Fromvwhat I hear those 3 deputies searched and found the guy lost as all heck miles away in really cold temperatures around 1am. Probably saved his life. So I agree with Native not all of the deputies deserve to be called lazy I know some ( including the ones mentioned here) who really work hard.

Some earn their payday, but you have to also keep in mind that most people should treat others the way they would be treated and respected, and when you don't give it, your not gonna get it. Some of them have chips on their shoulders, but there are a few good ones to.

I had an experience with a few deputies and they all treated me with respect. Although, I was the one doing wrong, they still were very nice and respectful. They took very good care of me and I thank them.

One of their deputies helped me find who hit my car and ran. I was very thankful, and I didn't even have the right license number.

Yeah I am glad that everyone thinks Tanner is doing is job! I guess yelling and throwing things during a tantrum is really whipping them into shape! As for the dogs Tanner is the one that said that they were useless and took officer Birchams away and just recently after a lot of begging and public pressure they got them back. But it was not no bright idea by one man! These guys work hard and like any work place you are going to have some that do the least amount possible to get by but there is so many that do there jobs and miss there family engagements and leave there wives waiting for hours on end to try to serve and protect, but they do not get respect from you they just get kicked in the balls! So how about next time instead of calling 911 for help you just get in the phone book and call the sheriff personally and ask him to either respond or take care of it for you! Oh and I hope that it happens Monday -Friday between 9-5 so he is in to assist you!
