Someone I consider reliable called and told me. Am I sure it's factual? I dunno....I suppose that's why I asked if it was true or not.

So after this post and another that said Beckley blocked this site from being accessed ...and having 2 people asking where I got the previous statements....and the faculty meeting via phone conferences w the campuses today..cutting some classes short for it....and having 2 people who could be anyone, asking where I heard my latter comment....and just knowing how things work at certain places that shall remain places I just wanted to say (something I learned on Colbert no less):

"None of the remarks I've made were intended to be factual"

I don't believe I will be posting anymore.

I for one, was in the dark. Why the hell would I need to double check the accreditation of a well known university????? They adverstised accreditation, NOT probation. WE THE STUDENTS TOOK THEIR WORD FOR IT. Legally, they were incompetent and falsely advertised. Students don't need to run background checks on colleges. Good for you - you got out. I'm bend over, waiting for the lube so excuse me if I seem a little bit bitchy. It could be that $30000 student loan bill on my kitchen counter pissing in my Cheerios.
I completely agree that you and the other nursing students have been royally screwed over. But, the college's lawyers will probably bring up the fact that the probation status was posted on the NLN website (making it public knowledge), and that you (as a consumer) should have investigated the school and its accreditation status prior to enrolling.

I wish you well and hope that you get some justice.

Stay away from "Louise" United States posting [email protected] THIS IS A SETUP. MSU IS BEHIND THIS AND IS TRYING TO GET INFORMATION FROM YOU. Don't send them any information. The school knows it is in BIG TROUBLE.

Will MSU let any of the current students enter the Masters program there? It sounds more than a little hypocritical if they say no.
Jesus, who would want to go further while this trainwreck is going on??? MSU might let them in because of the current reputation--who else with any sense would start & risk going through this mess again when the NLN reviews the MSN program in a few years?

What about other schools? WVU's site requires that you graduate from an accredited college to get into the MSN program. Does anyone know about Marshall's MSN program? Would they accept anyone from this graduating class?

1. It is factual that Drs Halle and France were forced to resign or be terminated. Same for Ms. Rosas.

2. No, you may not be able to get into another msn program at another university; particularly the local ones that know about the MSU nonsense.

3. At a faculty meeting with R. Artis last fall, when it was mentioned that people might not be graduating from an accredited program, her comment was, "Great, then tell them about MSU. We'll accept our own students into our graduate program!

I would email the [email protected] before I would go to [email protected] because I recognize that name from the Gazette. MSU is really sneaky. At a ethics seminar three years ago, Jon Reed the MSU attorney, told faculty that he "puts out rumors about MSU just to see how quickly the crap gets back to him." MSU had ethical problems in their senior administration several years back and part of the lawsuit solution was that the school offer ethics seminars. What a joke! The faculty did not commit the ethics violations, senior administrators led by Polk were at fault. Yet, faculty was required to attend the seminar but not POLK!!

Polk is trying to sell MSU again. Let's hope that Monroe Associates is smart enough to do their legwork. Polk wanted to sell MSU last fall but it was cancelled when his partners realized the extent of the school's problems.

Sell the school? How does that work?

Polk has tried at least two times in the past four years to either sell MSU to a online school like Kaplan or to get some friends of his and buy the schools. The Kaplan type school required MSU to have $30 million on reserve and the only way Polk could do that was to screw over the staff. He did not pay social security taxes promptly (Patsy Haslam found out this information when she applied for retirement). The sale he tried to do last fall fell through when the partners realized that he had lied about the school's assets and that the school had lost its nursing accreditation. MSU is about making money at any costs under the Polk administration. Let's hope the Monroe Associates do their due diligence. Don't forget, Polk bought that shopping mall in Martinsburg so the school is in more debt than ever.

Is this agency going to come to MSU and help with their image or with how they treat their employees from a leadership perspective?

My opinion of the college has certainly dropped since it was "Beckley College". I would hate to see what kind of "leaders" are being turned out from the Leadership programs, considering that I feel the college's current leadership is severely lacking.

There are so many poor leaders currently at msu. Let's take a look the administration. The first one is Polk. This guy gets his kicks by keeping his executive staff fighting among themselves. He doesn't want them to all get along. He would be afraid of what they might do if they very to join together against a common enemy. Then there is Alexander. What can you say. She has never worked in higher education until she got her job as a secretary for Polk. She learned from the master of chaos and bickering. I would ask you to question students, staff or faculty to count the number of times Alexander is seen on campus. She stays locked in her Ivory Tower. Artis is another prime example of the leadership at msu. Everyone in the community knows about her brutally attacking her own son in front of others at Woodrow. It is well known that she has a full liquor cabinet in her office. She couldn't even make it through Weavers memorial without needing a drink. This is a good indication that she is an alcoholic. If she manages the faculty like she handles her chid, it is a wonder there aren't more lawsuits filed. Then there is the peace loving Buddha John Reed. This guys calls himself a Buddha and a peacable man. Who believes this? He hired his wife to work for him because everyone in the state attorney generals office knows he doesn't know the first thing about law and has to have his wife there to cover for him.

This is a school that is teaching future leaders. Ha!!!!
