Two troopers who were under investigation for unrelated incidents in Preston County are no longer employed by the West Virginia State Police.

These State Troopers have some hellaciously serious mental problems. This is what we taxpayers are getting for our buck. And a BIG COVERUP to boot. Just ask the good people of Hinton about their current chief Snavely -- who got busted while working as a State Policeman.
__________

State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous confirms Trooper J.R. Martin and Trooper Bruce Helms are off the payroll.

He wouldn't say why Monday, and he refused to release the results of internal investigations.

Martin crashed his cruiser into a guardrail in May, dropped contact with 911 dispatchers and was found drinking in a fire hall four hours later. He was on duty and in uniform.

Helms was charged with reckless driving, domestic assault and weapons offenses after bumping a woman's vehicle and firing a rifle in August. His trial is set for Feb 4

I think the public has a right to know! These ex-troopers do not deserve cover-up protection !!!!

Why do you want to know so bad?? Either way they were terminated or resigned and no longer on the force. It has nothing to do with a cover-up. When an employee is let go it is the job of the employer to not release information on that employee to the public or anyone for thatt matter. Thats just not police either, thats mcdonalds, walmart, or anyplace of employment.

The only reason you want to know is because your a nosey gossip.

nO, MAYBE THEY ARE JUSST TIRED OF HOW THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER WILL MAKE SOME MINOR INCIDIENT FRONT PAGE NEWS IF A PERSON IS NOT HOOKED INTO THE CROOKED COP GROUP. I know a man who has been a good man all his life, helped others, and did not knowingly do anything wrong but was arrested for a minor offense. His name was all over the front page the next day, his wife had to wuit her job over the humilation, his little children were so bothered by it they did not want to go to school But I know a whole family that gets arrested over and over for violent crimes, do whatever they want because they know a fw cops on a personal level, and even if you call the paper, you will NEVER see their name in there no matter how bad the charges. Just maybe this person is tired of how the local paper picks and chooses how it reports crime. It don't take a nosey gossip to notice this, why report crime at all if it is going to be this unjust? Why even bother to report a shop lifter in the paper if stories like this are kept hidden. People want to know what kind of person is pulling them over in the dark of the night.

It is bad how hush hush everything is when it comes to a bad cop. Everyone is always trying to cover for them. When you are living with a cop that is very abusive you feel like you have no where to turn. His fellow workers are like no, he is not like that, he would not do that, well when you have a gun put to your head by him what is that called? DOMESTIC! There is a lot of good cops out there, but believe me there are a lot crazy ones too. I think when a cop gets into serious trouble it should be published. Cops should be held accountable for their actions becsuse they are suppose to up hold the law not brake it.

Yes, there are good cops, but the bad ones are the pits. A cop lied for a woman I know to help her out. At first I thought she had fooled him and he was not aware he was telling a lie. But when I confronted him, (I found out he had lied after two years of asking for help) I could tell he was out and out telling a lie, and not been fooled or tricked into it. It made me sick, I went to the sheriff and he stuck with the cop that lied. When people have a corrked cop that lies for them, their name will never appear in the news because the cop not only lies to protect the criminal, he also keeps their name out of the news. Just not right, but happens all the time. I wish I knew who you were, I am sure you could help me on how to deal with the cop that lied. He cost me a lot of money and caused me a lot of trouble.

Two facts: law enforcement officers and preachers top the demographic list for domestic abusers. These vocations require a level of respect and control, this ofcourse attracts domineerant power lusting psycho-types, unfortunately these individuals can be so manipulative and suave some are never ousted or discovered; nature of the beast if you will. If you are going to get on a website and making a statment you should seriously check to make sure you have your information correct. I am assuming you have internet since you can get on topix and post your own personal opinion so try googling next time. Why would local news even waste a segment of the news on something in Preston County.

Like I said there are good cops, I know a lot of them, even if you knew me, I would not know how to tell you how to deal with it. I never figured it out myself. I had just decided that I was not afraid to die, and had to get out of that relationship. There was the possiblity that I could have been killed, because statistics show that it can happen. I surrounded myself with people that loved me and were good friends and they helped me through it. I am very happy now and if I knew then what I know now, I would have done every thing I could have to take this bad cop down. I was afraid then, but the more I think about it, it makes me mad at myself for never doing anything about his abuse. I just wish and hope that things work out for you, the truth always comes out sooner or later!

Im sure your just a real badass lol. Im a sorryass? You were on another forum sticking up for drug users. If another precinct would give them another job then it wouldnt be because the media didnt report it, its because the precinct didnt do a background check AND it is the same as mcdonalds or wal-mart. Just because society holds them to a higher standard doesnt mean that the police doesnt have policy and procedures. Go ask any company, wheather it be police, a hospital, government, mcdonalds or walmart. They arent to release any sort of information concerning a former employee.

Dude, get a hobby and gossiping about people doesnt count.

Well if they aren't working for the state police anymore then they won't be pulling you over so you don't have to worry. Next I don't see someone doing something minor making front page news.. Listen there is good and bad in every place that doesn't mean everyone is at fault. I'm sure when the investigation is done you will hear all about it.

I posted under bobby on a forum before that because I was pretty sure I know the person that was being talked about and while I was sticking up for them, I still didnt want them to know I knew what was being said and forgot to change it back.

Anyways, learn facts of what employers can and cannot do and maybe you'll appear a little smarter. That is, if you have a job

can you provide a link or name the publication and year in which that these "facts" were found?

im guessing your probably can't lol. Its not that preachers or cops are anymore abusive than anyone else. Preachers and cops are more watched by the public so when they do something wrong its more of a big deal than say someone at staples abuses someone.

I completely agree but you also have to remember that they are humans in a uniform or a suit. They have struggles and make mistakes just like anybody and everybody else.

Yes, but it should not be covered up when they do mess up, or they should be allowed to bully someone with the badge. I watched a local cop lie to get a woman he was chasing out of trouble. He lied to the sheriff, to the prosecutor and to the judge, he got her out of trouble. I was not aware he had lied for two years but could not figure out why the "system" was treating me (the victim) like I was doind something wrong. After two years of delay, getting the run around and being treated like dirt I found out the cop had lied. When I confronted him about the lie, he and another cop sort of ganged up0 on me and said they would say they had an old file on me with incriminating evidence in it. I knew they did not but they let me know if I didn't shut up what would happen. This let me know the cops feel they can do as they please, To say the least, I am very disappointed in the police now. Until you witness something like this first hand, you have no idea how much cover up is done. Yes, they are human but some of them think they above other humans.
