Harry Reid today refused to put President Obama's plan for the fisical cliff up fo a vote today. Proof positive that the President and Reid are just playing games with the American People and the economy. The fact is Obama made a proposal that many democrats will not even support. Not to mention that there has been no outrage from congress or the press on Obama's attempt to steal the purse strings from congress. For a supposed constitutional professor, the man certain has no respect for or understanding of it.

Obama is in the catbird seat right now... He don't give a biggen... The American people voted him back into power and he feels he can do what he wants..

He isn't worried about any "fiscal cliff" and why should he?..Polls indicate the majority of the voters are still on his side, so the rest of us will just have to suck it up and eat it, like the Health Care plan,

The republicans would take the blame in the short term, but Obama and the dems will be the loser in the long term if we go back into recession. If the republicans give in, they are probably done as a party, if they are not already.

True, but if they don't give in and it goes the other way, then they are done as a party also.

maybe they should be. the have lost two elections in a row fooling around with social issues and not having the backbone to stand up and call Obama out for what he really is.
They had the perfect formula for success in 2010 and abandonded it in 2012. If they are going to nominate some weak kneed milton milk toast again in 2012, to hell with them. The republican party is ripe with young, talented leaders, they need to overthrow Boehner and McConnell and run a party of integrity or better still start a new party.

You would make a good dictator, CP.

You haven't heard yet that the majority of Americans don't like rightwing Republicans?

Republicans have lost the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections. Time to wake up...and it seems those "young, talented leaders" are making an effort...well, except maybe Rand Paul but not much is expected of him.

That is g good point. It does get old hearing/reading that Obama can do what he wants because he was elected. If any other past president had acted like Obama does he would be impeached. We can still hope.

Kind of strange, they seem to forget that the republicans in Congress were also elected. The founding fathers put three branches of government in place for a reason. They had just overthrown King George who was much less of a tyrant than King Barack.

Watch Obama push us over the cliff and then finger point at the Republicans.
The thing is though, we need to go over that cliff. You don't end deficits by little meaningless tax increases and no spending cuts.
Eliminate those refundable child credits, make the freeloaders start paying taxes and slow the entitlement spending that has been promised but cant be funded. Stop being the policeman to the world as well. It can't go on so lets go over the cliff...it's better than the alternatives

Democrats received more votes overall than the Republicans did.

The founding fathers never foresaw that Republicans would behave the way they have for the past two years by voting against EVERYTHING that Obama was in favor of. They also would not have foreseen that we would ever have a black president. Bet some of them are spinning.

Have you ever actually read any history? Politics today are actually tame compared to what they were yesteryear. I think Mitch McConnell should challange Harry Reid to a duel. The country would be rid of at least one scumbag; whichever one won.
Contrary to your liberal revisionist history, not all the founding fathers were rich, racists. Unlike the little men and women who represent us today, they pledged their lives, their treasure and their sacred honor to create a country where a black man could become president and an angry woman could trash their memory and acomplishments.

I am sure they are spinning too, but I would say that a black President is far down the list of reasons.

If they meant to "create a country where a black man could become president" then why did black people who were slaves count as three-fifths of a person, as stated in Article I(3) of the Constitution? Why did Thomas Jefferson...the reputed most intelligent founding father of them all....never free his slaves? No, times were different then and racism was an accepted culture.....actually until about 50 years ago. I think maybe you need to read some history.
