My advice, do yourself a favor ,and stop acting and pretending you have a clue !!

Technically I'm an Independent, but because I vote conservitively I know you'll lump me in with the Republican camp.

Who's the more clueless?

Recent headlines --

October -- Jobless claims unexpectantly lower!

(no, I saw that one coming)

Today - Surprise! Jobless claims rise!

(again, I saw this coming)

We have a thread with current layoffs, but add to that Panasonic, Xerox, Texas Instruments, Mining, Manufacturing, Proctor & Gamble, Wake Forest Medical Center (over 900)Smithfield Foods Packing Plant....

Want to know the states with the biggest loss this week? The media will tie the jump to Sandy but the biggest jumps were:

Pennsylvania and Ohio LOL

"Pennsylvania and Ohio reported big jumps in initial jobless claims for the week of Nov. 3. There was an increase of 7,766 claims in Pennsylvania attributed to layoffs in the construction, transportation and manufacturing sectors. And Ohio reported an increase of 6,450 initial jobless claims from layoffs in the automobile and manufacturing industries."

Look at the chart -- October, down - November, shot straight up....

http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-m...

An analyst on CNBC this morning talked about why the stock market has risen the last 4 years & it wasn't because of obama - it was Bernanke and Bernanke is now out of options -- look out for the next 4 years.

You should work for FOX, you would fit right in with the rest of the jack a$$'s. I am independent and have voted republican a couple times maybe you heard of him Ronald Reagan, and Bush Sr , I vote with the country's best interest not what a faux news programs tells me, and yes I voted Obama twice.

IDK, because I am not a Republican, but as a conservative I have pretty much gone insane listening to liberal bullshit everyday and watching the American People line up to drink the Obama Kool Aid.

Stock market tanking, unemployment going back up, economy growing at a snails pace, fiscal cliff looming and liberals are whistling past the graveyard.

Face the facts - the clothes have no emperor..

You can thank the Republican party for the mess the country is in, IE stonewalling congress and the gift that keeps giving from a 2 term republican named G W Bush

I have to disagree. While Fox helps put the perception of Conservative = batshitcrazy, I think that is simply a symptom of a far more sinister problem.

Think about it. As I have stated before, It is known fact Fox "Manufactures" news. Doing things like building stories out of essentially nothing and taking larger stories and annexing them for their own devices and such. However, Fox... is still a corporation. They exist to be profitable, and the only way they can do so is ratings.

While Fox knows how to work that target demographic for every last drop, simple fact is, if there were not a vapid mouth breathing gullible audience willing to "buy" the product they are manufacturing, they would not be wasting time, effort and resources manufacturing their specific brand.

Yes... We have seen the enemy, and the enemy is US.

This is far from a conservative exclusive either. WHile Fox might have been pioneers in their specific brand of manufacturing... Since it has been illustrated to be so lucrative, others have followed suit with their own brand like MSNBC. Essentially doing the same exact thing, only pandering to the other side.

Now this is essentially all common knowledge to anyone able to rub two synapses together. But again, it is a thumbnail of a far larger picture. That problem goes by many names... My favorite is Idiocracy, but it is usually more typified as "The fall of Rome"

Our once great nation, built upon exemplary ideas, has gave our country unmitigated prosperity, and wealth. Through that prosperity that the seeds of our destruction are sown.

For example, We now see a legal system in the US filled with conflictions, loopholes and a level of complexity the average lay person essentially has no hope to fully understand that requires the vocation of "lawyer" to exist to interpret and manipulate the laws. That was also a principle reason for the mass exodus out of Europe to "the new world", to escape the unmitigated legal bureaucracy plaguing the lives in Europe.

We also see "the fat of the land" that is killing our populous. We eat to much, too often with fixation on flavor over nutrition. Quantity over quality. However, it is not just our food we gorge outselves on. Constant entertainment, endlessly obsolescent electronics, "Luxuries" that are often time more cumbersome than practical, and opulent worship of style over substance.

This is what our prosperity has wrought. It has twisted the idea of an American from one who was an innovator yearning to explore endless possibilities with a brash "I dont care how you do it, Im going to do it my way" attitude. We strove to be the best, Bigger better faster stronger and more unique. That model of an American has been worked and reshapen like a glob of play dough to reflect shameful sloth, attitude and unfounded arrogance. A completely unjustified sense of entitlement across the country in the general populous built from being "The greatest nation on earth" We traded our "can do" spirit for greed. We abandoned striving to be measure by which all others chose to measure themselves, for cheap thrills, instant gratifiation and the baser pleasures that pander to the absolute lowest common denominator.

It is no surprise to me at all that we are a nation divided. We cant get over ourselves and the value we put on our own opinions to see everything burning around us. Some of us are resistant to allow what was built fall asunder, trying to "defend" what is left even when their ideological bickering on both sides is only able to touch the tip of the iceberg.
Then you have the others who are content to just watch the world burn, and even worse still those who dont even realize there is a fire. How many can even actually grasp just how deep it all goes?

So here we are, as The great empire burns, arguing over which water bucket to use to put it out never stopping to think for a second that the fire... is electrical with live wires everywhere begging for the water bucket./sigh

Sorry... for the TL;DR crowd here...

The crazies are everywhere, the Inmates run the asylum, the roof is on fire. We have ruined what we have built by simply being too good at what we did and in turn breeding lazy apathetic, delusional, malformed, gullible populous fixated on greed, pointless consumerism, style over substance, and pandering to the lowest common denominators.

So, while it is true, the crazies are everywhere... You really cant get mad at them slinging theirshit everywhere... Thats just kinda what they do... You should have expected it and ducked.

Thats essentially the America we live in and we have been building it to this point for the last 150 years. The work is almost complete.

At this point all I can say is Just sit back and watch the tower fall.

Listen dumbass, the president had two years where he controlled the house, senate and the whitehouse and what did he accomplish? He passed Obamacare that is already killing the economy and the damn thing hasnt even kicked in yet. You liberals need to get over being batshit crazy over GWB. I know you dont want to admit that your guy is an empty suit, but that is the fact.

All fairness pig... its "killing" BECAUSE it hasnt kicked in. The effect wont normalize till the tax/mandate/bullshit is in place that expands the pool of insurance carriers, that can allow the insurance providers to normalize prices.

I mean it wont happen, but, if we werent governed in a "greed is good" societal construct, that would be the cog that sets the gears in motion.

As for Obama being an empty suit.. Do somewhat disagree with you there. Hes done a lot of stuff. Unfortunately most of it was not all that good.

But you do point to the Senate control 08-10... You have to be able to recall what it was like too. Every action he took was met with "Your not listening to us" "You are ignoring us" "Your pushing your policies through without involving us" from the republicans.

And how did that play out? He caved, and essentially slowed down to try to pander to republicans, and when that happened, almost anything he was working on was ground to a halt or in effect ruined.

And that is another problem about ACA. Think back to what occurred during that time. People complain now ACA is awful, and their complaints are not unfounded. However, the problem here is that the biggest reason why the ACA IS so awful... Is because it was butchered and mutilated to accommodate conservative interests, Killing the desirable parts of it leaving it as little more than a mangled abomination. So in all fairness, on ACA, conservatives need to re-evaluate, because the ACA was one of the few major pieces of legislation able to even get to the desk of the president, and most of what is wrong with ACA is because of republicans.

On another point... You know my position, Im not a huge Obama advocate, but Im sorry... there is absolutely no limit to the animosity that GWB deserves, now forever and always. Does not matter To that end, Obama doesnt even factor into that equation.

These crazies are refusing to reach agreement on the Budget, and playing into the Democrats ' hands again. If they don't, the cuts automatically go into effect, the Country goes into recession, the Republicans get the blame, and lose the White House again in 2016. Wake up people!
