This is really sad news. This will definitely be the end of the Lewis franchise. It will soon be called Hopkins Used Cars with the buy here pay here option. Someone told me he used to sell night crawlers and minnows (chads...lol) before he got his management gig with Lewis? I wonder if I could hook up with one of the sisters and get a nice management gig there? It's no wonder they are losing everything.

Chad is an a$$. He went from nearly being fired for lack of sales to shacked up with the Abrams girl to being married to her. Can you say "marriage of convenience'?

Shouldn't be too hard to hook up with the sister, but I hear her hook-ups are only temporary....wink,wink....

I wonder why everyone is worried about Lewis Chevrolets franchise? How many people go to Rameys and buy a Hyundai or go to Hometown and buy a Ford and never worry about service? Half the people that complain about a carlot owe twice as much on their car as what its worth or their credit is so bad they cant get financed and then want to blame a carlot. I know for a fact that they just had a record month, its hard to be an asshole and sell 63 new Nissans. Until the Chevrolet sign comes down,THEY STILL ARE THE CHEVY DEALER!!!!
Fact: Last time I checked the sign was still there, they just added Suzuki to help serve the community.

They have been getting lots of new inventory and have been selling lots of cars and trucks. As far as not being able to deal with them, a lot of that has to deal with managers and salespeople. Every car lot you go to you can have a bad experience if you get a bad salesperson or if they dont have good managers. For those that have had a bad experience with them, you should really give them another try. You will be pleasantly suprised!
I spoke to a friend that is a local attorney and they did lose their franchise for the Chevrolet but not Suzuki.

The question of whether Lewis will retain its Chevrolet franchise is likely in the Bankruptcy Court which will set the terms of Chapter 11 exit of General Motors. I would think the U.S. government would demand a contraction of the number of Chevrolet dealerships in such a small market as Beckley. If there is another dealer, it is probable that one will lose its franchise. Is Ramey a Chevrolet deal in your market? If you, one or the other will be the Chevy dealer for your market.
not sure

All i have heard is GM wanted them to spend a lot of money updating their showroom and they refused. They are here and plan to be here. They do have some shady characters on the payroll however, but who doesn't.

Do not attack Ms. Hopkins. She is the most decent one of them all. The other one is a nightmare.

So did Lewis Chevrolet get to keep their Chevrolet Franchise or not? I am planning on buying a new truck but want to make sure they are going to be around.
So what does it matter if they lost it. If you go out of town to buy one you have to go out of town to get it worked on. And if you buy at Lewis and they do lose it you still got to go out of town to get it worked on. Why not go to a local dealer who has been around for years and will treat you right?

I would have to agree, I would rather buy local with a company that supports the community the way that Lewis has for many years. The automotive industry has been turned upside down by the economy the last few years with many dealers closing down or selling out. People didnt stop buying cars at Beckley Auto Mall because Hometown bought them out and they didnt stop buying Hondas because L&S bought Eareharts out. The strong dealers will survive and I havent seen a going out of business or a for sale sign on Lewis Chevrolet and am pretty sure I wont!! For those badmouthing the Lewis girls, how many of you could take over a multimillion dollar business at a young age without having every jealous person criticize your every move???

I have been buying cars for years at Lewis. They always treat me right. The people have changed but the way they treat people hasn't. I just bought a new chevy right before Christmas and I was still treated the same way I was the very first time.

I was charged $800 to tighten up my steering wheel, one month later it was loose again took me 45 minutes and no money to do it right myself. Don't go there for service unless its a warranted repair.

I bought a silverado and a Suzuki two weeks ago. Both New, never owned from Lewis. We had a very nice saleperson named Chris who spent hours with banks getting us the deal we wanted. He even let us test drive a used car so that they could keep our vehicles to get estimates while we finished running our important errands that had to be done that day. He was able to get us decent trade in amount as well as payments only slightly above what we wanted. My only complaint was it was very time consuming to get the deal but then again he was trying to get the payments where we wanted and my credit is not the greatest. There was a small dime size rust spot on bumper and since they couldn't buff it out they ordered us a new one at no cost. We were given excellent service much better than when we bought our Titan 6 months earlier from a diff location. I don't use this site to trash businesses so ill just say it wasn't Lewis and it wasn't in beckley. When my hubby asked about gm the salesman said he was unsure but they Definately were going to fight to keep their franchise. Two weeks ago they also had several brand new Chevy siverados and Chevy aveos. They are not selling cobalts at the moment due to the have something to do with Toyota. I say if you are interested un buying a Chevy from Lewis go check it out for yourself.

The rust was found after purchase. Believe it had been scratched on the lot causing the chrome bumper to rust. My point is though that even though there was a defect in truck ( which could have happened at any lot) they stepped up and made it right no arguement or attitude. I have had somwhat similar issues with another lot in beckley and do to the way they handled it I will not buy anything from them again. My point in posting this is not my truck but because I received good service and was treated better there than any other lot I have bought from.
