So did Lewis Chevrolet get to keep their Chevrolet Franchise or not? I am planning on buying a new truck but want to make sure they are going to be around.

why would you want to purchase a vehicle from a lot that was going loose their franchise? there were good reasons that gm picked them to loose their franchise. try mid-state chevy in flatwoods. or northside in summersville. or king coal in oak hill. or ramey in princeton.

That was my question. I heard they were one of the 600 dealers GM reinstated.

Lewis has NOT lost their franchise and has a lot full of new Chevy trucks. They have been there for 79 years and will be there for the next 79 years.

Funny. To lose their franchise they sure are selling alot of Chevys and getting new ones in all the time. They ordered my friend a brand new one a few months ago.

They have been getting lots of new inventory and have been selling lots of cars and trucks. As far as not being able to deal with them, a lot of that has to deal with managers and salespeople. Every car lot you go to you can have a bad experience if you get a bad salesperson or if they dont have good managers. For those that have had a bad experience with them, you should really give them another try. You will be pleasantly suprised!

They won't tell you there. Say that it is still up in the air. I know per the agreement they had until October of 2010 to still sell and service Chevrolet. I wish someone could tell me the facts.

Fact- They are open today
Fact- They are selling new Chevrolet,Nissan, and Suzuki
Fact- They have served this community for 79 years and will continue to do so
Fact- Dont you think if they were losing the Chevy franchise that some of the employees that have been with them for years would be leaving?

They are allowed to receive new vehicles from other dealers. This is called dx's. They are not getting back their franchise and they have lost numerous employees. Even one's that had been there for years. Some people are smart.

I haven't seen any NEW- Never been used- Chevy's there for a few weeks now. Suzuki's are in the place of the new Chevy vehicles. There are USED (but some still 2010 models) vehicles in the same place they've always been. I drive by there everyday and this is what I see. Until Suzuki moved in (maybe one day last week or the week before), there were NO vehicles where the NEW cars used to be... And Suzuki now covers up Chevrolet on the sign...

Well if they still have the same sales manager from when I bought my Nissan Xterra there I can see why they are in this kind of shape. I have never dealt with someone so rude and uninformed as him. He acted like a complete know it all and basically told me that he didn't need my business and if I could get a better deal with Cole Nissan then I should go right ahead. I think he thought he could act like that because I am a woman. I can't even remember the guys name only that he was married to the owner of the place. I ended up buying the Xterra out of sorrow for the salesman. I am surprised Nissan hasn't pulled out as well.

Now that the general manager Roger Gandee passed away Chad Hopkins is in charge of running the place in the ground.
