I'm sure enjoying various sites' comment sections on this show, and the amount of West Virginians defending our state by saying that these young people are actors that were brought in from elsewhere to depict us in an unfavorable light. The parents defending the acts of their children on the show is downright scary. They should be embarrassed and ashamed, but they aren't. Like the old song says, I suppose, "money changes everything".

I don't see anything wrong with it. It is a TV show and as they say, publicity is good no matter what kind. I grew up here and this is tame. Maybe not, are they blowing things up with gunpowder? That was always fun. Shooting a big hornet nests in trees and running for your life was fun too. I figure the only ones this is offending are people up in the Yankee part of the state, especially in South Hills,Charleston where they try and hide their real roots and where they filmed lots of this!!!

I watched the trailer and it didn't seem too bad but I couldn't understand a lot of what was said....I will probably watch the first show to see how bad it really is. Several of the things in the trailer I've either done when I was young or seen other people do. These kids look like they'e pretty young...when most people do stupid things. Let's come back and give our opinions after 1/3/2013.

I'll have to alert my son since he was a redneck kid at one time. I remember him telling me some of the things they had done the first time he went to Myrtle Beach with his friends the day after they graduated from highschool (like diving off the balcony into the pool) and me saying "you did what!! And him saying "that's why I never tell you anything!! Oh, the wonderful and horrible days of his youth.

We have had to endure this hillbilly, redneck, uneducated rube crap ever since some New York reporter came here reporting on events such as the Hatfield/McCoy fued mess over a hundred years or so ago.
There are those who don't miss a chance to perpetuate this nonsense every chance they get.

We know what is true and what isn't, but the fact remains, those in other areas of the country don't.. Too many of them are dumb enough to think all West Virginians are uneducated hicks.
Those who promote this type of program have an agenda to keep this stupidity going into another century, and we just laugh and go along with it?

How about making some reality shows of Gangs killing each other in Chicago, or Texas cattlemen, getting drunk and having sex with cows, or illegal aliens trying to work and speak English..Now those things are funny!
Get my drift here?.. What's so funny about a bunch of people running around making a total ass out of themselves, which places a stigma on the rest of us?
Enough is enough in my opinion...We've got enough "reality" shows like the crazy "B" of New Jersery or Atlanta ,or wherever they come from:)

I don't imagine they would do anything like that in New York, Indiana, California, or anywhere else would they?
If they did, they aren't going to basically hook it indirectly to the "culture" of an entire state which many will do in this case.

As I said in my previous comment, I have done some of the silly things shown in the trailer that I watched of the show...not all. I think enough people around the country have met enough real West Virginians to know that we're just like people in other parts of the country except maybe we're more down to earth, more honest, and harder working. At least, that's the impression I've received from my travels and work around the country. My employers were always glad to hire a West Virginian because of the work ethic that is bred into us. I've never watched Jersey Shore but I will watch this show at least once to see how close...or far off....the mark they are. I doubt it will be something to brag about but who cares what idiots who would watch a show like this think about West Virginians. That's my opinion.

Oh yes they do! Consider the show "Jersey shore", the only difference, is those kids are more educated and mature than those hay seeds in Charleston and Sissonville WV.

Hey, I live close to Charleston and Sissonville. This isn't nice to say, but it's the God's honest truth. Sissonville's reputation is very well known around this neck of the woods. I'm expecting some contrast between their cast and the Charleston cast, but since it's called "Buck Wild", there may not be a lot, just a different type of wildness. Lol, I'm looking forward to tuning in to this.

Some people live to be offended. Lots of states have their stereotypes. Texas, Missouri(Hillbillies from hell there), Oklahoma, Alabama(ROLL TIDE). It's only the snobby and above other people types that usually are the ones to complain. I'd rather be known as a country bumpkin from West By God Virginia than a peter puffing , flaming queer from Californeeeaaa.

Yep, many states have "stereotypes" also... No question about it.. I agree, they should show their dumbasses on reality shows, since they must be as proud of being a laughing stock as many have sought to show us over a hundred years or so.
I too think some of these things ARE funny.. Having said that, WE have been been made fun of for a century or more, and many do BELIEVE a lot of the nonsense depicted concerning West Virginia as a whole..
We have come a long way in recent years, I grant you...but I also remember a time when a disaster happened in West Virginia or whatever, and the news media came in to report, they appeared to seek out the worst looking, dirtiest, thickest hillybilly accent, dumbass they could find to interview...They did it on purpose in my opinion to make us all look bad.
