Whew, I'm glad I heard that speech...

I thought we were in serious trouble before:)

Everything is fine, just fine, so don't fret folks.

Insubstantial to say the least. Maybe John Boehner's creepy frown-down really did work as planned.

Until now, I thought Bill Clinton was the best liar that I had ever seen. Obama beats him hands down.

Can you imagine sitting down with your family and telling them that you are going to have to cut the family budget because you are spending more than you are bringing in and then saying "look we are bringing in $4,000 per month but spending $4,500 per month, so from now on we will only spend $4,600 per month. Your family would call the men in the little white coats to come and get you.
Oh, I forgot, the men in the little white coats cant come and get you anymore.

I just saw that the asteroid that is going to swing past earth in 2 days could be worth $195 billion if we could snag it. If we could just snag 100 of them we could be debt free if only we could figure out who to sell them to. Our luck it would be some alien nation that would pay us with food stamps or even worse, some type of worthless printed money. Then again we would probably spend $500 billion trying to catch the asteroid anyhow. If we did catch it, then the EPA would be on our ass for some type of an infraction.

You can't blame Bush for the last 4 years but I'm trying really hard to think of someone who got handed the country in worse shape than what Obama got handed to him. Factories were shutting down left and right when Reagan was in office. And they are still gone. Clinton lucked out with the computer revolution. But the wars under Bush nearly got us bankrupt. The military will need money for the next 60 years for the vets that are wounded. Wars don't come cheap. And to think no WMDs makes it all the more sickening. It was a needless and very expensive war. Our kids will be paying for all this. Did I mention congress will send money to these countries to compensate for all the damage we done to their country?

He surely doesn't seem to interested in trying to save any money.. Last night was FULL of more spending..

He basically, riding his "landslide" :) victory in November spent the evening giving the Republicans the finger.

I saw absolutely NO indication from him compromise was on the horizon on just about anything.

I agreed with some of the things he layed out, but on the whole, he came off as an arrogant "P" :)

Well, it was truly the same old speeches recycled. They have worked in the past so well on the Obamabots that he just used the sound bites again. The clown possee, liberal congress, clapped at every 3rd to 4th word. The video from that speech will be used in the future like the ones of people idolizing Hitler. No, Obama is not Hitler, but people are mesmerized by him. Maybe Koresh is a better comparison?

It's like that in every SOTU address, regardless of who is making it. The party of the president in office stands and claps at the drop of a hat while the opposing party claps politely when they think doing otherwise would make them look insensitive, then sit there looking bored and disgusted the rest of the time.

Obama says health care costs to be based upon quality...laugh. You can't define "quality"
Obama says closing loopholes will save money...you dont save money by closing loopholes. The costs are still there. Then try to close that mortgage interest deduction loophole. He will be blasted by the housing industry into the middle of next week. Scratch that idea.
Obama says build manufacturing hubs. Oh goody...what cities will lose manufacturing so that these hubs can pick up manufacturing? There certainly isn't going to be a surge of companies coming here with our high tax rate structure, workmans compensation mess and oodles of regulations on every second of the day.
Obama has all of these "wont cost a dime" plans. Thats great. Just who is going to pay for them or do those so called bridges etc just come out of nowhere?
Obamas speech was just more hot air and a prelude to a tax increase and, in Obamas words, "it didn't cost a dime" to listen to

I noticed that. It's the right thing to do, fair share, the American people, middle class, Bi-partisan. In other words, my way or the highway. Blah, Blah, Blah.

Obama and Congress say they want spending cuts. My question is if they agree that there are programs that need to be cut why were they implemented in the first place and why are we still paying for them. If they can be cut now, they could have been cut eons ago.

Just because Obama is not Hitler, does not mean that he is not dangerous. Anyone with that type of charasmatic personality who uses it in the wrong way is dangerous, whether they are a preacher, politician or business leader. Obama is using his charm to lead the US down a path of big government, western european style socialism that will not and can not turn the American Economy around. His imperialistic view of his position has never turned out good for people being ruled by such a person throughout history.

The scary thing about the SOTU speech is that when Frank Luntz did his focus group on the speech, even them people who did not vote for Obama and do not support his programs, liked the speech. Meaning that Americans have been so dumbed down that they dont have the ability to see past the rhetoric and really understand the words. Even the people who like Obama did not believe the speech, but liked. One of the most scary comments was from an Obama Zombie who said "but he really believes in what he is doing" History is full of failures of people who believed in what they were doing.
