Just follow the Money you will see that Roy Shrewsbury and Pugh are connected not only in this mess but in the Mountain State troubles. If the truth comes out you will see that Shrewsbury is the CROOK at the center of most of this. He is in with the Ral County Comission too. Like I said follow the Money it all comes back to him!!

The reality of WV is simple, if your in the clique, a "good-ol-boy" you can do what you want. If your last name is Cole, Lilly, or McGraw you in. If your an outsider you are subject to a different application of the law.

I completely agree. It's also very hard to get a decent job here, unless you have a highly specialized degree. They save all of the good positions for their family and friends. You truly have to know someone.

A lot of people get their jobs that way...it's called networking. My son started his career through a friend of his college roommate. That didn't stop him from being the best at his job, month after month after month. You get an opportunity you better run with it.

There is nothing wrong with networking and being good at your job. There is something wrong with networking which leads to crossing the line and exploiting the benefits of the job.

Well, I wouldn't know about that. I wasn't addressing Pugh's ethical problems if that's what you're talking about.

I was implying Pugh's recent problems with the latter statement.

Who were the three city councilmen that asked him to retire? Is this within protocol when the alleged allegations have not been finalized with a determination by the ethics commission?

Robertson, Berry,(retired policemen) and Booker. Robertson said "being a former police officer and doing investigations, I know the process of finding probable cause and I think the investigators have done a very good job as far as interviews and so forth......it makes me assume that some wrong-doing has taken place". Booker said "I think he should retire, for the sake of the city and to gain back the trust of the public". This story was in today's Beckley newspaper.

And we taxpayers should send a message loud and clear to the Raleigh Co.Com mission that we are sick and tired of Beaver Land Company not paying their fair share of property land tax. That's another crime in itself that has been going on for years.

Can you believe councilwoman Ann Worley said that she feels that this should be business as usual? Is business as usual committing corrupt acts for personal gain and looking the other way at the expense of taxpayers? Do we elect these people to sit on their fat arses and rob us blind so they can pad their pockets? Mayor Pugh should be placed on probation and removed from office until the investigation id finalized. As long as he is mayor he can hide behind his allegations that he has done nothing wrong yet continue to rob and steal enough money while he is on his way out.

Pugh should not be entitled to retirement benefits for the corruption involved in his office for personal gain. That is a form of unjust enrichment at the expense of taxpaying citizens. Pugh received a salary and also double dipped in receiving shady business proceeds. Because all 9 counts involve financial dealings that has benefited him and is directly related to a violation of the public trust he therefore should not receive a pension and should be asked to resign immediately.
Ann Worleys objectivity

Ann Worley has shown a lack of objectivity in saying that this is business as usual. What about corrupt business deals in secret meetings with rich business men is business as usual? What about supporting a person that has clearly taken advantage of his office and stolen resources from the city and yet you still support this as business as usual? This shows a grave lack of objectivity on the part of Ann Worley and she needs to distance herself from these statements and from the Mayor's shady business deals. It makes you wonder if she is involved somehow? Vote her out of office if she does not live up to her obligation to do what is right!!!! I applaud Berry, Robertson and Booker for doing was is just. I applaud Hall for his stern stance and objectivity. Worley and Atterson though, are staunch supporters of a man that has stolen money and personally benefitted from this theft of materials land and equipment.

Robertson and Berry are qualified for the job. The qualifications are not much.

If being the laziest person on the planet was a qualification for Mayor then yes Tim Berry would win. I would be afraid he would have heart attack before he even made it through a year in office. He already got in trouble at MSU so thanks but no thanks.

As I already said, John Perdue is in trouble for much worse and he has yet to resign. He holds a much more important job to.

Police officers are allowed to take their patrol cars home. Police officers are on call pretty much all the time because as sworn, law enforcement officials they have the ability to make arrests even when not on shift. In fact, they are expected to arrest when a crime happens in their presence and need their patrol car which is instrumental in making arrests and has essential equipment in them.

Now, a mayor driving around in a cadillac escalade has nothing to do with running the business of a city. He could drive around in a more fuel efficient, economical car that would save taxpayer money. Instead, he drove it to the store and everyplace else for personal business. It was more about looking good and feeling good and being pimped out than it was about the city and its people. When public servants seek office for personal gain instead of service, then they need to be removed from office. Who was served by the mayors use of a pearl white, cadillac escalade? Nobody but the mayor! Who approved this expenditure? Who would spend this type of money in a recession just to look down there noses at people in the city? Isn't this a gross misappropriation of money? Who was responsible for this? The mayor!

Whatever happened to the grant money for the East Park swimming Pool? The last I heard the money was not spent on the Pool because the mayor said they could not find life guards to man the pool. The money was supposed to be spent on the payment of the lifeguards. He claimed that they could not find enough people to certify to be lifeguards and that they only had enough for New River Park. Where then is this money? Why is the mayor not spending the asset forfeiture money for police officers equipment and overtime? Why with all of this money is the powers that be asking for a fire levy? Is it to reward Kevin Price for not putting the fire out? The city received half a million dollars for the fire from insurance proceeds as well. The demolition of Deri the Tailors business was a planned act to get the new judicial building just as the fire and lack of ability of Kevin Price to put out the fire to get the half a million dollars. What about Pugh using city equipment, man power and money to build up Woodlands village when he had a personal monetary interest in the business venture? What about Burning Rock? What about Bids for the BIG project being rewarded to business associates? Follow the money and shake the trees. Literally where there is smoke there is fire. Isnt it ironic that we had a major fire in uptown beckley and Mayor pughs business is called burning rock? Lol
