EPA Fines Oil Refiners 6.8 Million Dollars

In 2011 the EPA levied 6.8 million in fines for not adding a certain bio additive to gasoline. There is only one problem, the additive does not exist. The amounts needed can not be commercially produced at this time, but that did not stop the EPA from imposing the fines. Fines are expecting to be even higher in 2012. Guess who footed the bill for those fines. Thats right, you did.
Btw, you can find this story in that right wing rag, the New York Times.
To be fair this insanity started with President Bush promising to add more money for research into bio-fuels. So this is not Obama bashing, it is pointing out how out of control the EPA is.
