Love DST! If you are always early for an appointment you do not begrudge it. But if you are a latey....then it just adds to your stress. I am doing the can't wait until the heat arrives ato entice the late evenings with raspberry tea and early mornings enjoying the hot coffee with the early birds dance. YES to DST you are the first breath of a very welcome Spring!

Hell with that... I say just abandon the thing all together. Its relevancy has dwindled given our mass food production and that we are no longer a nation of farmers.

And I think several studies have been conducted illustrating all the negative effects and in fact lost money and productivity it causes every year and its not completely inconsequential amount.

Friggen farmers.

Interesting that it is technically Daylight Saving Time, but Daylight Savings Time is so widely used that even newspapers and other publications use daylight savings time.

YES! But in another 2 hours the answer will be no and as time was disrupted there will be no evidence of it ever being said.

Thanks Bob... although of all the crappy things George W. Bush did, fiddling with daylight saving time was probably the least harmful.

Mornin Nat.

Well, There are others who do too like AZ and HI and some of our protectorates.

So yeah, dont have to give them dirty Hoosiers credit for nothin ;)

Really I never could get the support or excitement for it. You basically get one day per year where you get the sensation of an extra hour of sleep. By the next day, hypothetically, you have adjusted to the difference any any advantage is negated. Then there is the price of the time restoration in the fall.

I remember being in school and being quite perturbed by it all because at the begining of the year you come off summer vacation and when you finally get relatively adjusted to the more regulated school schedule, Along comes some nonsensical arbitrary rule to kick you in the nuts and make you suffer once again. Yet, its in the early part of spring as your school year is coming to a close that you get that extra hour of sleep and by then, your more than adjusted to the regulated school schedule. As an adult it is not as bad, but in school it was downright cruel.

I say do away with it entirely. Its not practical, In some places (like AZ) its actually counter productive and really its a manufactured aggravation and really, arent there about a billion more important things we should be focused on?

Does this mean you don't like DST?:)

Don't have a flannel waistcoat NOR wooden teeth... I have all of my teeth thank you..or at least MOST of them:)

I will admit to putting a "rub" in, drinking some moonshine, and smacking my woman on the rear while I was fiddling.
The "smacking my woman" part got a little intense for awhile, but by the time I got back, she had calmed down:)

Many people who work and many people who don't work, or no longer work, do things like fishing, playing golf, riding bikes, etc. etc. etc.....This gives them more time to persue other activites...There are pros and cons of course, but the pros outnumber the cons.. to me at least.

I agree there are other things we need to concentrate on, like opening up the White House to the public again, but hey, that doesn't seem to be a priority to the POTUS.
Maybe he's playing golf in the evenings and doesn't have time to think about it:)
