More BS. Why do people want to pick on Eddie? Stan Sweeney doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation as a person. I won't say anything about him professionally, because I have no first-hand knowledge of how he does his job. I've never seen him at the Moose. Taking over as administrator there is not as simple as some of the posters on here seem to think!

You guys with the "I heard", "I was told", and "rumor has it" are wrong. I can't go into detail about HOW I know, but I know these rumors are not true. If you think someone can come in and take over at any time, you don't know how the protocol and by-laws at the Moose work. Anyway, I know the club is operating in the black and actually doing quite well. This will be my last attempt to defend Eddie or the establishment, because people would rather believe the bad things they hear than the truth. People who do good work are always torn down by those who don't even try to help!

I doubt whether Stan has much sway over how Chief Deems runs the police department & how officers conduct patrols. And I doubt whether he much cares about drunk drivers on New River drive near the Moose. Now, if the Eagles Club was still open, he might have a reason to ask for (safety issues for patrons), or most probably complain about, police being parked outside the door - but that would mostly be Mabscott police, although the city jurisdiction is also close to the closed club.

I ask - why do you think Stan would be interested (as a retired so called inside-track person) in asking for more patrols on New River Drive?

i agree he has been retired for 4 years and dont talk to chief Deems so if you have a problem with the Beckley Police you are pointing your finger at the wrong person

Having a problem with the police is not the issue here. The real issue here is that there are many drunk people on the said road known as new river drive. The problem lies with the moose serving booze not stan sweeney, cheif deems or anyone else. What part of this do you not UNDERSTAND? Close the GD Bar!!!!
