If it is allowed within the rules and regulations of the school district what is wrong with the parents decision?

IF Raleigh CO Schools aren't good enough for him then why should we pay him to run the schools for the rest of the children in Raleigh CO????

Remember that at election time: Gordie Roop: no faith in our schools, no faith in himself!

As a parent, I've noticed that the quality of Raleigh County Schools has decreased over the past few years. I guess the BOE saw that too!

The entire board of education needs to be changed. Beginning with Richard Jarrell and Rick Snuffer. THis is a School system, not Chick-Fil-A. You can't run a school system like it is a restaurant or a coal mine. IT IS NOT.

If I were you I would get my stories straight before I start running my mouth about a raleigh county board member. Check and see what you yourself have done for Raleigh County School compared to what Mr. Roop has done. If I am not mistaken Mr. Roop has a son that goes to Woodrow Wilson High School.

If you are so concerned maybe you should consider running for the board of education. Mr. Jarrell needs to be reported to the ethic commission because I do not see how he can be a member of the school board plus make money off these schools doing fundraisers at Chic fil A is that legal? When I have been at Chick fil a he is always working. These schools get 10% so if we make $4,000 on a fundraiser at Chick fil A how much does the school get $400. This seems like a rip off to me. Legally I believe he can not be on the board and profit from different schools in the county.

Honestly I dont see the problem in it. The thing wrong with the schools in Raleigh county (mainly woodrow Wilson) is Richard jarrell he tries to start shit and cause tons of problems. He also rips everyone off with that spirit night bull shit.

That 10% is probably the profit he made off the food sale so he's just breaking even, at best. That's not counting his labor, utilities, etc. Give him a break.

If Raleigh county isn't good enough for them, then my vote will not go to him on election day.

I was told that fastfood retailers generally profit 26%. He is still making more profits than the school organizations he shares with. You know that schools really bring in lots of customers!(Elementary kids draw in grandparents, etc.)

If that profit percentage is correct then I own the wrong kind of restaurant. Regardless, he didn't have to give anything. Isn't 10% of income sort of the gold standard for contributions?

On the other hand, I may be prejudiced for Chic-fil-A because I like their food.

Well, Lesson Learned, I don't work in the food industry, but I have a friend who does. That is where my information came from, and she would know as a franchisee. I don't know what the "gold standard" is for donations. I don't care for Mr. Jarrell on a personal level. He's a jackass. He seems to be a pretty astute businessman, however. I'm not sure exactly why being on the school board is so important to him, but at least he works. I don't know what you own, nor do I care. I merely stated what I believe to be fact. Why are you constantly on the defensive? So sorry for offending your sensitivities!

What made you think you offended my "sensitivities"? I was merely stating my opinion. And part of my opinion is that I wish I made a 25% profit at my restaurant.

The "gold standard for contributions" was in reference to tithing to one's church. I thought anyone would get that....guess I was wrong.

Tithing and donating to a club or charity is entirely different. Tithing is a committment. As for other organizations, I give what I can. I can scarcely afford to donate 10% to anything besides church. So forgive me, oh brilliant one, I don't need to "get it". I've read dozens of your posts. You always want to appear "smarter", even if it requires belittling someone. Whatever helps you feel better about yourself..........

I'm sorry that I obviously offended your "sensitivities"..... :) You're mighty touchy. I will continue to post my opinions and if they bother you so much I would advise you to stop reading them.
