Has anyone around here noticed that arh is really going down hill. You wouldve thought that the many strikes over the last few years there wouldve straightend it up but it sure hasnt. If you have to take a loved one there be very cautious. Those nurses and doctors are way over the legal limit of patients and they are running what i believe to be a very dangerious poorly managed healthcare facility. GO TO RG OR CAMC!

RG is not the place to go. From what I hear it is Full of staff infection (MRSA)and some of the family waiting rooms are absolutely filthy. I don't mean a days worth of dirt. But pure filth accumulated over time. Look around the edges of the floors at the walls and behind doors. It is so nasty.I even heard one local doctor refuses to do surgerys at RGH instead he is now sending his patients to Plateau Medical Center for him to operate onthem.

There is Staff and MRSA everywhere. And yes, they are two different types of infections! The average person is most likely to get these infections from common public places, such as restrooms, tanning beds, not washing hands then other physical contact, etc. As for the hospitals in Raielgh Co, go elsewhere. Princeton and CAMC are much better.

Extremely mismanaged, very understaffed, retribution against the ones that went on strike. My needs will come from other facilities.

I also heard that the management there is firing people at will and still messing with any employee that went on strike. That management needs dealt with!!!! It is a very dangerous place to take a loved one, and to work at. These people in charge need fired! You have to go to charleston or morgantown to get any decent heathcare treament it seems.

I just left BARH because my child is scheduled for surgery in the morning. I just received a call stating that I needed almost $1000.00 for my deductible and co pay. I told the lady I didnt have it right now but would next week. She told me without it, no surgery. I thought BARH was a non profit hospital. I guess they needed the money to help build the psych wing across the road. So what happens if Mr. Im Hurt went there with a broke leg, would they turn him away if he had no insurance? What would happen if Mrs. Heart went there and had a heart attack, would they turn her away? I think at times its better to have no insurance than to have insurance.

Thats ok, I will never go there again. I hate to say that because my mother worked there, my great aunt worked there as head nurse yrs ago and they never turned anybody away back in the 80's and 90's. I guess the man in charge of BARH is a greedy little man.

No insurance and you are trash to these people...sorry that is the way it works..if it is not life threatening they can turn you away. Sorry about your child...I hope they are OK.

We have insurance. But because we havent met our deductible yet, they want the limit they can take,$500. Plus the couple of hundred of what our co pay is. So Im looking at almost $1000. My mom said whether you can pay or not they cant turn you away. If thats the case, why do they say they are a non profit hospital. Listen to their ads on tv.

I will never go there again. It didnt use to be this way. They wouldnt even set up a payment option. NOTHING!!!

I have been going to BARH for the last 30 yrs. This has turned me against them. So, if I had an ulcer that busted and bleeding, would they do surgery or tell me I needed so much money before they would do anything? Thats how I took it. Im calling our lawyer Mon. to tell him what they done to my son. Our insurance company told us "they had the option to ask for the $500". Ive been to the hospital so many times this year, they have never asked for it. They said it is a new policy they started this year.

You can bet if my sons hand doesnt heal right, they will see what this mad fat white woman can do!!

If you go to the ER they cannot turn anyone away, for any reason. If the patient has a copay, they do have the right to ask you for it however, they cannot deny you medical attention...And people should stop using the ER for BS. That's what DR offices and urgent care clinics are for.

It is true that the emergency rooms are filthy and 80% of the people there are filthy, vulger, loud, and uncouth. If you don't hink so spend some time in the ER waiting rooms. I agree with Trixie there are too many people who are there that shouldn't be, pill heads, alcoholics, the only Doctors many of them have ever seen are ER Doc's. Why do they bring their entire extended families with them??????? All their kids????? Its a shame.

They can't turn you down for the surgery either unless it is an elective surgery. I had a procedure there last week, the lady called and told me what was due from me, only $200 but usually once the bill comes the amount isn't right, so rather than wait for my money back, I just don't pay it all at the time of visit. So I told her I'd pay half, she said that was fine. No issues. Maybe you had someone who didn't know the policies? And they absolutely cannot turn you down in the ER or if you are in labor. EMTALA prevents this....

I told the lady in billing I had a couple of hundred. She said no, we need atleast $500. It wasnt elective surgery. It was surgery to repair a fractured finger and a pin. Atleast I dont think its elective surgery. They just needed for the swelling to go down in his hand.

They have always waited to see what my insurance company pays then sends me a bill for the rest.

Very weird... the billing lady also told me that they just raised all of their prices because people aren't paying... maybe that's why they required you to pay more? I would certainly hope that wouldn't be an elective surgery!! Try RGH, I used to work there and, while we did have to ask for $$ at least 3 times, we didn't require it.

Because other people dont pay it shouldnt be held against me. They have always billed our insurance and then what they dont pay, we do. Its not alot. So I cant really understand why they are doing this. Is it for everybody? I wonder what would happen if it was a life and death. Oh sorry, you owe us a bill from 9 months ago and we cant help you. I just dont understand. Neither does my Mom.
