"Romney, who takes great pride in heading the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, caused a media sensation Thursday when he said there were "disconcerting" signals that the British might not be prepared for the coming games.

Romney also duffed his first foreign trip as the presumed GOP nominee by revealing that he held a secret meeting with British intelligence about the games. His disastrous performance is being chronicled minute by minute on Twitter with a hashtag dedicated to him --#RomneyShambles.

Conservative British Prime Minister David Cameron mocked Romney in rebuttal. "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course, it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere," he said, referring to Salt Lake City.

Romney has long been looking forward to the Olympics as a way to move past the storm of his unreleased tax returns and scrutiny around his time at Bain Capital."

Romney said he wouldn't criticize Obama in a foreign country and then he goes and insults the host country. He's being called another "W" and worse than Palin. Uh-uh-uh!

“Pissed off underwater tiger.”

Its ok... They are British, they are terribly polite and pasty people. They wont be able to stay mad for very long. Its simply in their DNA. Give it long enough and they will even take the blame for it.

The British may get over it but what about the next country he insults? He needs to get his silver foot out of his mouth. Ok, ok, I know that Ann Richards said something similar about George W.

Who really cares? At least he didn't apologize or send back a gift.

Romney said:

Romney said: "There are a few things that were disconcerting, the stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging. Because there are three parts that makes Games successful.

"Number one, of course, are the athletes. That's what overwhelmingly the Games are about. Number two are the volunteers. And they'll have great volunteers here. But number three are the people of the country. Do they come together and celebrate the Olympic moment? And that's something which we only find out once the Games actually begin."

The "disconcerting" things, if true ARE troubling. The worst part was about the "people" and they won't be voting come November.

Piers Morgan of CNN EVEN says Romney is absolutely right and it's no secret in Britain. LOL

It takes SO LITTLE to get the left frothing at the mouth and thinking they are set for the "big kill".

souless maybe, but no ginger.
Actually I am quite generous with my own money. One reason I dont like the government taking too much of it. I do support the government spending money on the things they are constitutionally mandated to do. Example: if the entire sti

hit a wrong button somewhere:
example: if the entire stimulus had been spent on infrastructure, I would have had no problem with it and I think it would have actually helped the economy. Instead, WV has several million dollars worth of computer routers sitting in a warehouse somewhere that we cant even use.

At least he didnt give the Queen a dvd set that she cant even play in England. He also told the English that he wants the bust of Churchhill back. And yes it was a dress rehersal as the fat lady is warming up for Obama.
