Also, Jews and Non Jews went to same assemblies in Acts there are your Gentiles Sports Fan that observed the Sabbath. Then we have in Acts people together one Sunday with Paul to pray and worship. However, there is no word about SABBATH being changed. They just gathered together because Paul was leaving the following day.
According to history Constantine in 321 AD changed Sabbath to Sunday so the Christians can worship with the pagans in honor of Sun(Baal).
Last time I checked Constantine was not God nor Christ.

The Sabbath was not certified to be on any specific day for the GENTILE.

That is like saying that because Pres Obama took away the day of prayer for our nation, that now we are required to no longer pray.

Again STAY on subject and quit making yourself look less credible with every post.

The NEW Testiment church was given FREEDOM over several of the traditions of the Jew, and one of those traditions was practicing the sabbath in a manner where it became something being done out of commitment, rather than one being done out of reverence and love.

Romans 14.. end of discussion.

A quote: VERSE 5 "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. "

Maybe your problem is you look to much to mans books than learning Gods book in context.

where is FCC purchasing land??

Even though many of us seperated from each other with ugly scars and jagged wounds...Im very content in my spirit to see both churches are healing. Fwc is developing new ministries, and is regaining its reputation, and Fcc is now in the proscess of purchasing a permanent piece of land to develop a home for the church. It just makes me happy even though we do not agree, I can now talk to the members of the other church without awkwardness as strong as it was before.

I Agree with Just So Glad. I run into a people from the other church and get along well. There are still some people that act awkward. What is sad is that the church leadership in this church are the ones who choose to not speak to me and turn their heads every time I attempt to speak to them. I just so happened to go to FWC when all this trouble broke out, but that doesn't mean that I contributed to the things that happened. I just went to church. I know most of the people who are at FWC and who have left. I don't understand why people would not speak to me, but they have to work it out in their hearts. I'm sorry, but whoever is still acting upset about this needs to move on. It's been a year and both churches have a purpose. Both churches need to focus on God. I know there are some of you who think FWC needs to get rid of PKW and I know people who think FCC will fall apart. I don't know about all that. I have chosen to move on and treat people the way they deserve to be treated. We are to treat others the way they want to be treated. I've got friends from both congregations and I am glad they are all doing well and are at the church God has called them to be at.

For may who have raised this issue...there are MANY distance education programs that allow people to earn certain doctorate degrees (counseling, pastoral studies, theology)...and MOST are accredited. Because someone doesn't drop everything in the life and move away or take full time university courses doesn't mean they can't earn a degree (be it associate, bachelor, master or doctoral). From someone who has worked as a professor at MSU, i thought i'd share the truth of distance education opportunities that exist today. That's all....

"First, the woman who gave the message was in the wrong by standing up in the first place. The woman is to be silent. Somebody should have told her to sit down and shut up. 34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.I Corinthians 14:34-35 says: "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." and look at the mess her disobedience caused. Second, FWC, FCC, and New Life apparently is full of self righteous people who know it all. Romans 3:10 says "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one" I have read some terrible comments on this forum and it's easy to tell that some of you think you can do no wrong. God will humble you all though. Last, some of you think it is ok to judge and slander each other. James 4:11 and 12 says, "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?"
I'm just waiting for people to refute what I have said, but how can you refute the Bible? I did not say the Bible said that blah, blah, blah and give my version of the Bible. I used word for word scripture. Also, if any of you are perfect then tell me where I can meet you because I want to shake the hand of a man or woman who is perfect. Let God judge what is wrong. God knows the heart. If someone wears jeans to church, puts color in their hair, etc and you don't like it then that is your problem not God's. "

Study your scripture! We must first understand the culture of the day and what was happening in the church to cause Paul to make the statements that he was. There was much confusion occuring by the many false prophets and prop...hetesses of the day. Many of the false prophetesses were causing a lot of problems 'around town' in the many temples and Paul had to address it. Again, we must understand the culture. Example - women covering theirs heads or cutting their hair. We don't all cover our heads today because it is not our CULTURE but the Jewish women did and the Gentile women didn't so Paul addressed it. For cutting of the hair...the temple prostitutes were identified by the cutting of the hair. As for women speaking in the church....many women were not educated because in that culture women were not schooled in the syngogues which was their custom so many had questions once they began attending the many services so Paul was telling them to wait until they got home to ask their questions. Also, as I stated earlier their were many prophetesses teaching false things and Paul needed to silence them to bring order. Also, we must understand that King James and other versions are not direct translations. The Greek uses many forms of male and female words as other languages, such as Spanish does. The word in the Greek in I Corinthians 14:34 is "hai" which if translated correctly would make that scripture say "Let "those" women keep silent..." meaning those women who are either uneducated or false prophetesses. I could go on and on. Also, in Acts 21:9 the scripture talks about Phillip's four unmarried daughters who prophesied. In Romans scripture speaks of Phoebe who was a deaconess. There were many women who were integral parts of Jesus' ministry.

Paul has no authority to make this claim.
Romans 16:1: Paul refers to Phoebe as a minister or deacon of the church at Cenchrea. The Greek word which describes her function is "diakonos" which means literally "official servant."

Philippians 4:2: Paul refers to two women, Euodia and Syntyche, as his co-workers who were active evangelicals, spreading the gospel.

1 Cor was directed at only the church in Corinth. It was not a mandate for all churches assembling.

Genesis 2:18: Eve is described in the original Hebrew as an "ay'-zer" -- a co-worker of equal status to Adam.

Exodus 15:24: Miriam, the daughter of Aaron was a prophet and one of the triad of leaders of Israel during the Exodus from Egypt.

**You do know what a PROPHET does right... hmmmm

Judges 4 & 5: Deborah, a prophet-judge, headed the army of ancient Israel.

**Learn what a PROPHET JUDGE is.

2 Kings 22:14; 2 Chronicles 34:22 Huldah, a prophet, verified the authenticity of the "Book of the Law of the Lord given through Moses" - the Book of Deuteronomy.

Again hmmmmm....

Acts 9:36 The author of Luke referred to a female disciple of Jesus by her Aramaic name Tabitha.

**A disciple... hmmm a woman disciple. What did the bible say God camanded the disciples to do...... hmmmm

Acts 21:8: Philip the evangelist had four unmarried daughters who were prophets.

Really? I do not know anything about the golf tournament, but I know that nobody from FWC came to the softball tournament in hopes fcc would lose. I think its sad people are still trying to come up with ways to make FWC look bad although its a year now that all this happened. I play softball for FWC and I came over after my game and watched Faith and Sunset Hills play. I didn't care who won or lost in that game. I knew First Baptist would win the tournament because they are stacked. I was walking to my car and saw two of the better teams in the league playing and decided to watch the game. I'm sorry if I offended you by doing so. Players and members of Faith Community have watched our games before and nobody on our team got on here and made up a false rumor that Faith was hoping that we would lose. All I remember about that night is people from Faith being kind to me and me being kind to them. If someone told you differently then that person(s) needs to be the adult and grow up.

Also, there were only a few ladies from FWC who came over for maybe a inning of the game and that was because they saw Faith and Sunset playing after our game and decided to stop by and watch. I was the only one who stayed for the whole game. We finished our softball tournament games up last night and a player from FCC came to our games for support. I could be like beware and say he came hoping for us to lose, but I am not immature. Like I said, I know nothing about the golf tournament. If FWC took the trophy away fcc players then that is not right. I wasn't there, so I am in no place to make judgment on that situation.

I was at the game last night and I'm pretty sure the player from FCC wasn't there hoping we would lose. If I'm not mistaken he let the team use his equipment and even kept the book for us one game. He has watched quite a few of the games this year and I know personally I have never heard him say anything negative about the team and I'm almost certain no one else has either. Everything I have ever heard him say was encouraging and supporting. The last thing he said before he left was he wished the guys luck and hoped they won the championship. That sure doesn't sound like a guy that wanted them to lose.

The player from FCC was very supportive, which I said in my previous post. He came to cheer for us and let us use a bat. The point I was trying to make is that no one from FWC got on here and tried to make false rumors regarding people from FCC or that specific player coming to watch FWC softball games. I've only been to two FCC games and that came directly after our team had played. I know pretty much everyone from faith except those who played on the team from other churches. The other game I attended was when Faith played First Baptist. Those are two of the best teams in the league. As far as wanting Faith to lose, I don't care who wins and loses. Yes, I play for FWC and I want us to win, but it doesn't matter. It's just church league softball, it's not Major League Baseball. I think church sports get taken way too seriously sometimes. Any time I have ran into someone from Faith Community, whether that is on the field or off it, they have been nice to me and I have been nice to them. I don't recall anyone from our team wanting Faith to lose. The reason we didn't play faith is due to our team being in the lower division. The reason we were in the lower division is due to us having a whole new team and this being the first year we have all played together. We had girls on the team and we didn't need to be playing First Baptist, Sunset, or Faith due to one of those girls possibly being injured. I saw a guy during one of our games last night hurt and he may have broke his collar bone due to being hit by a ball. That shows even the guys get hurt. I hope no one from FWC said they wanted FCC to lose a game. I know I never heard that from anyone on our team or never said that myself. I don't understand why someone would come on here and try to make FWC look bad by saying that people from our team were hoping for FCC to lose. You talk about how we need to be adults, then why are you on here posting things that could misrepresent FWC and the softball team. Our softball team is full of guys who have character. I have never played with a better group of guys. I give props to Faith as well for being one of the best teams in the league and using players from their church. There are a couple of teams, Sunset and First Baptist, whose whole team consist of guys who do not attend the church they play for. I have a suggestion for beware: how about instead of getting on topix and telling everyone under a false name, go directly to the people who you hear talking about Faith and talk to them about it. That is what I would do if I heard someone from Faith talking about our team. By the way, I have never heard someone from Faith talk bad about our team.

I thought one of the qualifications was that you attend the church you play for a least once a week.
