The Beckley Football Problem

Is it just me, or has anyone else pretty annoyed with this "GATA" thing. The football team has become nothing more than a gang and all they do is harass the actual talented athletes like the soccer team and others. Ive heard from my child and numerous others and parents of threats of physical violence directed twords students for saying things that offended the "GATA Boyz". The term GATA is nothing but a disgrace to the school and all athletes that have ever represented Woodrow. The football team has become a gang. Not a team, but a gang willing to use violence and terror in order to get it's way. Ask students at the school (that arent dating football players or play themselves and they can confirm). It's not like the team is any good. They have no reason to be acting this way since they can barely win. The administration needs to do somthing about Lilly and his "GATA Boyz"

They are probably harrassing the soccer team because the soccer players are walking around wearing big fat STATE CHAMPION rings and STATE CHAMPION shirts, jackets and so forth. They are jealous because its something the football players will never get to experience.

I have been to the games and have never seen 10,000 people there. Really you guys suck and it's not all the coach either. GATA should stand for (get a team already.) I would rather pay to watch soccer than waste my money on no talents like gata. CRY BABIES!

The stadium might not even hold 10,000. This sounds just like Lilly talking. Lilly hasn't coached a single game at WWHS in front of 10,000 people. If your truly a high school kid, I understand you buying his crap. GATA does stand for Get After Their A$$e$, however, he tells administration it stands for Gifted and Talented Athletes. Good luck, as a long-time supporter and former player, he has lost me. I want the school and kids to do well, but as far as The Coach John H. Lilly........ let your two sons graduate and go away.

Get after their asses sounds really gay but in fact is what the football team does really well. In all of the games last year Beckley players chased the asses of the opposing team as they ran for touchdowns. One by one, beckley players dove after the asses of the other team. Good Job Lilly! your motivational acronym is working just fine. It also stands for GRAB ASS TACKLING ALWAYS. LILLY MUST GO
