No we aint in shock because you and that ass smeller Mr Mudd are the only ones that apparently didn't know that the EPA wasn't letting Patriot mine by way of MTR anyway.
Patriots only trying to make themselves look like they care about somthing after the election.
Don't worry they will still be surface and deep mining.

I am not in favor of MTR either, but I am confident those who favor and even rejoice in the death of the coal industry are too clueless to fathom what this would and IS starting to mean to WV and the communities they live in..

IF they think this will not impact them, even though they may have nothing to do with the mining industry as far as employment or even support industries goes, they are sadly mistaken...

Be extremely carefull what you wish for, you may just get it and much quicker than you imaginied...

This impacts everyone!
Less people doing business and buying goods in the state. less small business that are connected to mining, rebuilding moters, mine parts etc, Even our grocery stores will feel it. Mining is our industry here.:(

It sure will impact everyone in the area .. Less environmental destruction, less water & air pollution that causes numerous serious diseases & deaths. Living a healthy life is much more important than someone's profit margin.

Factor in less jobs, less money, not only for people who SPEND it on everything from Wally World to gas stations, to packettes, to vacations, new automobiles, homes, etc.

They also pay taxes going to the State to fund a LOT of programs from coal severance taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, and any other taxes you can mention.
People and businesses moving OUT because they can no longer function in this area... Property rates going down to where people cannot even sell their homes and get out IF they want to.

Yep, we have a bright future when the coal industry totally shuts down.. We can have have Boy Scout campouts, and even girl scout campouts if we want.

We can have liberals from Washington, D.C. and all over the country to come see where the Hatfields and McCoy feud took place, then zip up to the Greenbrier to gamble and big time it.

The anti coalers have it all figured out.. Replace the jobs of people making from fifty to eighty grand a year with unemployment, welfare, and minimum wage jobs..A glorius time is " comin" for sure:)
Amazing, they just don't get it!

This tree huggin b!tch can't have a conversation about coal without wishing poverty and death to coalminers and their families.
People like them are to stupid to realize that there are Gov organizations that regulate mining like the DEP, MSHA, and WVMSHT.
Narrow minded thats all, they want to come across like they know everything but it doesn't take long to figure out that they don't know much at all except that they are extremeists.
I beleive I can speak for alot of miners and their families when I say to this loone and others like them, EAT SH!T AND DIE"

I thought you had a little more sense than you appear to.. I was wrong.. You're just a dumbassed fanatic who doesn't have a clue as to what he is talking about.

The other posters are right.. you wish to NOT debate or reason, you're just a brainwashed dumbass...There is a chance you may have to move in the long run also, or at least family members, friends etc.

You can sit on the hill by yourself and talk about healthy it is since their won't be many people here to get sick in the first place.

You even made fun of "clean coal" technology if I remember correctly...

IF you know anyone in support industries, or businesses in the area, talk to them..They will tell you what is happening...
You get your talking points from a bunch of lunatics in a city who thinks electricity comes from the good Witch of the North.
Maybe you should MOVE to some place where YOU won't have to worry about clean coal or any coal..

NO debate needed because you don't have enough information to debate it.

Tell me exactly where I'm wrong.. IF we shut them all down, what happens here?.. what replaces the jobs?..Let's hear it, nows your chance.

Did you not read where I do not support MTR?....I support PEOPLE and JOBS..The safer any job can be done, the better..

I'm no coal miner, I never have been, but there are people out there who actually LIKE being a coal miner.. They like the money and what it can buy.. Their just like everyone else, trying to make a living and give their children better lives than they have.
I don't have to move nor do I need employment anymore...... I've got mine, but I have the common decency to care about those who haven't gotten theirs yet.

It's commendable to worry about the planet and environment, but what is commendable about telling people they are a bunch of dumbassed ignorant hillbillies who don't know S from shinola?

Liberals get on here and television and wonder why WV voted against Obama and come up with same dumbassed comments.

They are uneducated, the wrap themselves in the flag, and their Bibles..They don't know any better.

Horse manure..They have the intelligence to NOT vote their jobs away, nor their communities...I guess that makes them a hell of a lot smarter than any liberal out there.
